Is site designing really tough?

I think if people know basics of HTML and CSS then then one can design good sites.
but in recent technological era most of the popular or professional site is based on CMS.
Most popular CMSes are DRUPAL, JOOMLA which is based on PHP,MYSQL which is the basic need to make a dynamic website other than HTML and CSS.
For blog purpose people use wordpress as i did in my site http://www.sanjeevjaiswal.com
i used drupal for making dynamic site which is secured and good looking is http://www.soecusat.com
one simple site made by me when i was learning HTML and CSS is http://www.jassics.110mb.com
In short i wish to convey the message that if you are willing to good looking website with minimum effort then choose some already made softwares or you wish to learn codings then start from the scratch but one can get many ideas from these softwares. so just have a look and try out to make your own site

If you know html and css thoroughly then you can make any site. Designing site is easy if you have good knowledge about technology.

see that wil help you in making static website only rest is on your dynamic knoledge i mean php,mysql, oracle etc......even if you think you are good at css and html then you will surely feel that oh one has to learn a lot yet....still i m learning one or more techniques in css most of the time when i do mistakes.........so keep learning check mah site then

Yes it is VERY tough!
HTML and CSS is not enough to make an excellent website. You need to know how to design one, meaning using Photoshop or such. Photoshop is the design of your website, html and css are just the coding. You cant really "design", per say, a website with html and css besides colors and tables and etc...
