how do you deal with a formal interview? today i have a class which the teacher asks us to pretend to be an employee and apply for a job.he will interview each of us to see how we deal with a formal interview. i think it is very important for us college students to know what you should do and what you should not do during a interview. i learn a lot, like how to shake hands and how to sell yourself. of course we talk about our ideal jobs in the future and what kind of job we want to apply for. so,i want to know more about you when you apply for a job, what will you say to the manager? how can you make yourself to be impressived by the manager? and what is your ideal job? thank you...

Hi, my job as part of HR duties is to conduct interview. Do you know that some of the hiring decision are not based on how candidates conduct themselves in interview? After I finish conducting the interviews and escort candidates to the main door, I will wait till candidates go out of company, then ask my gal (receptionist or HR Assistant) how they feel about the candidates. The moment they say candidate is very proud, and treat them as low-paid employee, I will not even consider hiring them.

Hi bbtort, actually at work, we make a lot of decisions based on this important factor of respect. Once we had an insurance agent serving our company. He would answer my call or would call back very soon if he's driving. He would show same respect to the Accounts Manager. But when we asked our gals to call him, he didn't bother to answer their calls or didn't bother to check things for them. The Accounts Manager was furious, called him and scolded him very loudly. When the insurance was due for renewal, we almost terminated his service and chose another agent.

Wow! I think you are really cool. After reading Harry Potter, I make sure I treat people (especially other who are lower in position than me) with respect. In one of the books, Albus Dumbledore said the to know the measure of a man, look at how he treat his equals and subordinates and not how he treat his superiors. Thanks for sharing something so interesting. Guess it's a good thing for me that I'm always polite and respectful of receptionist at interviews. :)

As a recruiter, I'm impressed by the interviewees who try to drive me around their capacities insipte of letting me drive them around my requirements. I don't want them to repeat what they wrote in their CV, but they must show their motivation, their ambition, and their ability to work well with the others. Pay attention to your fashion, the first appearance reveals many things, and if they don't have a good feeling about you, they won't hire you even you do no mistakes during the interview.

I have faced a few interviews for job openings. I got many tips from my seniors and friends but trust me, when you are sitting in front of the panel, you forget everything! At least this is what happens to me. So, my way of dealing with interviews is very simple.. just be yourself and be honest. Do not try to be anything that you are not, because the panel is very experienced and he will easily find out. Try to wear a smile all the time and do not get nervous. Sometimes the panel will hurl a lot of questions at you one after the other. They want to see how you handle pressure situation. You might not even know the answers, but still do not show them that you are nervous. All the best

wow,the same with me.when my teacher supposed to be an employer, i, supposed to be an employee, i almost fortgot very thing i prepared before the interview. at that time i could be nervous even though i calmed myself down and pretended to be smiling. but i just could not remember what to say next and how to be myself. i am sure that you can not imagine how terrible it was. i really want to find out why there are people can say what ever the want and answer questions fluently. i just could not be that!!

I've been working for more than 4 years now and have been to many interviews already (and have conducted several interviews as well). Here are some of my interview tips for you: - Be prepared. Review concepts related to the job you are applying for. - Research on the company's background. It would impress the interviewer if you know a lot of info about their company. - Try to research on commonly-asked interview questions. Practice your answers. It would be more helpful if you practice in front of the mirror. - Dress appropriately. In fact, dress to impress! But ofcourse, don't overdo it. Just make sure that you look decent and presentable. - Review your resume. Make sure you're able to explain all aspects of your resume to the interviewer. - Be attentive. Focus on the things that your interviewer is saying or asking. Don't let your mind float around. - Sell yourself. Prior to your interview, think of your strengths and how you can be an asset to the company you are applying for. - Be confident and positive. Even if you're nervous, try your very best to be confident. After all, if you're well-prepared then there is definitely nothing that you should actually worry about. I hope these tips could help!

haha,my dear darling! It is very surprise and happy to see the topic U put out.As usual I say to U ,the most important point to the problem is how to show the adervantage U own to yhe manager as far as U can.First,U must be confident even if U are not .Usually pretending to do work well is wonderfull way to give the boss a goodimpresstion.Second U can do something that is neglect and trifle ,such as cleaning the room or when there is some waste papers on the floor ,you can take it up and throw into the dustbin,if I was a boss,I will have a good impresstion on U.So i willchose to offer U a officer but not others who are have the same skills about jobs.My ideal job is working as a great architect in the future, earning much moneay,at last marrying U !xixi love U ,my honey!

Good question, it is really a hard thing to find a job now. I have graduated for more than 4 years. So now, I have some experience of work and also don't care about the interview. You question remind me go back to 4 years ago, so I think I can say my experience of interview simple. 1. keep relax since nervous and excited don't make sense for it. 2. Read one or two revelant book even resite it, it will make you don't keep silent. 3. Fitting clothes and smile can give interviewer a good impression. 4. Keep best status to deal with it, it can make you do better than normal. Just go ahead, don't nervous.

First you must be confident. Be well prepared with the subjects of the interview. do some serious reading. Also in attaining interview, try to collect some info about the company as well. Then do not lie what you do not know.

I think you have to behave confident and keep a smile when you have the interview. Try to tell the boss what you are good for. Such as you have a good teamwork spirit, career knowledge, some experience etc. Good luck! I love China

i dont think there is something special that needs to dealt with a formal interview. the more formal you are - the worse the interview will be. if one goes for interview and remains as natural as possible although it is called as formal interview, one has t be realistic, straight forward and clear in what he says, thats would be the one of of the best interviews
