What freedom of choice does liberalism respect?

This is a question, not a challenge. Listening to Obama, Pelosi, Reid and Rahm Emanuel, I don't hear much in the way of respect for individual freedom of choice. Gov. Doyle (WI) has so much contempt for individual choice, he doesn't even want to hear about it. Ethanol and Regular gasoline? It doesn't matter what damage they cause engines, lower gas mileage or how much crap the ethanol processing plants dump into rivers and lakes... No choice, we have to buy what they choose for us. Incandescent lightbulbs or Flourescent lights? Who cares that flourescents contain hazardous materials. Who cares that a broken one is a health threat. In shouldn't concern us at all, why? Because that choice is up to The Central Committee, not us lowly subjects. No Choice! Want the freedom to keep your own home as warm or cool as you choose? Not if The Central Committee and liberal ideals get their way. The power company should be setting your thermostat where THEY think it should be... No Choice! Do you enjoy shooting sports? Tough nuggies, only the government is qualified to handle guns. Want a cigarette, cigar or a special blend in your pipe while sitting at a bar? Nope, nope, nope... letting the owner of the bar make such important decisions for their business would just be irresponsible of our government benefactors. I wonder, in the minds of The Central Committee, the DNC and govenment officials who worship at the church of liberalism, does the word "choice" have any meaning other than in the context of abortion? Please, if you know of any choices liberalism is willing to allow of us lowly individuals, I'd love to know what they are.

I would love to know too. This is what bothers me the most about the liberal agenda. They are so concerned with being nannies that they stomp on individual rights to do it. The job of government is not to provide everything to us. On the contrary, it is their job to get out of the way. We need more Americans to say that government has gotten too big and it is time to down size!

They seem to be too busy wondering where their nipple on the federal porker is to care about anything else.

Well they also want to take away the rights of churches to decide who can and can't get married on their property. They don't want parents to have the right to choose where their children go to school either, or even have the choice of homeschooling their kids. According to them a female republican can't even choose to run for Vice President if she has children because a (republican) woman's place is in the kitchen you know? Residents of Florida and Michigan can't even choose to vote in the democrat primaries if legislators schedule the vote too early. Last I checked the only choice they do believe in is the choice or a woman to kill a child in the womb. The father of course has no choice in deciding the life of his child. He'll be forced to pay child support for a child he doesn't want and be charged with homicide if he forces an abortion against the mother's will. It's only homicide when a man does it, but if the woman does it: CHOICE.
