I've never read twilight, even though I have it, but there are other books that go before it. Right now I'm reading Eldest, the second book to Eragon, there's plenty of magic, but not really any romance in it. you may wanna look up tamora pierce, her writing isn't as good as some but it keeps you locked to the books, well it did me at least. there's a ton of books to read not enough time to read them. My most fave author is Tad Williams, and so far no one compares to him, but he has little to no magic, and well the romance is slim. It is mostly about survival lol.

Tad williams is a sci fi and fantasy writer, there's romance in his book but not to the point where it's necessary. he made the Memory Sorrow and Thorn trilogy, Otherland. War of the flowers was a WONDERFUL book!! and shadowlands is pretty doarn goo, well all of his books are good. as for the wild magic series is from tamora Pierce, it's best to read the books in order though, because she has a whole world just right out there, the first ones are the Alanna quartlet. then it's the wild magic quarlet, then another quarlet, as well as 2 books "Trickster's choice and tricksters queen" all of them good books!! They are short but worth reading. I use to have the alanna quartlet on audio but sadly lost it ; ;

I am a fan of Twilight, but before that I never read any books like it. One of my favorite books of all times though is "Tuesdays with Morrie." I honestly feel everyone can learn a lesson from this book! "The Time Travelers Wife" is a good one to read too!
