who balances the check book in your house?

I live alone so I have to do everything by myself. But I have found useful to buy as much as I can through my credit card. I pay all of it every month but the monthly paper I get states every thing I have bought, where and how much. Besides that, at my bank they give a very small amount of $$$ depending on how much you use the card. I save that too fot my vacations (alon with my online earnings).

I take care of the all money aspects around my house. I pay the bills, and write the checks, and my husband just has to make sure he gets his butt to work to make the money ;) Its better for me to take care of it all, because if I left it up to him, things wouldnt get paid, nor would he know whats going in and out on a monthly basis !!!

I balance the checkbook in our house. Our situation is a big strange, because I'm Canadian, and my husband is American. If we need to write a check for something, I'll write it on my account, and if money is needed from him, he'll take the money out of his American account using his ATM card, and just give it to me, to support the check. Our bills are in Canada anyway, for the most part, so I just write the checks.

I do. But I haven't been the best at it in recent years because it's always off by something and it drives me nutty as to why it's off. If I let hubby handle the check book we'd be living in our mini van!

In our house, both me as well as my partner try to ensure that we both can pay the bills, as you never know what is going to happen in the future.I do not look at my bank online, i tend to wait until i either go to the bank or wait until the bank sends me a statement, as i tend to check the statement when it comes.
