Physical fitness is the most important concern for everyone. We all want to be successful in our careers and also live life to the fullest. So apart from huge success, fame and money, we all also desire the fittest body and mind.
Most of us have the tendency to put on weight at the slightest of indulgence. Working out is the perfect answer, I know.
But many of us are too lazy for a syeady fitness routine. That leaves us with dieting.
The moment I hear this word I cringe with the thought of starvation. But it needen't be so. Dieting mean eating the right kind of food with fibres and less calories.
Have you ever gone on a strict diet control? what did you do? did you almost starve yourself? or ate right. which one do you feel can bring the desired result?
Or is it diet onsciousness accompanied with a little workout that is the answer to lose weight in a decent time span?

Hey,
I agree with you that these days people are more concerned about their fitness than ever. Its mainly due to the changing lifestyles and the craze to look good and slim. But what i wonder is a lot of people want changes in a very quick time and giving minimum efforts. For that people are taking various types of medicines and later on they repent.
I believe that the intake of Salt and Sugar should be checked as thats the main reason for obesity in most of the people. I dont eat sweets and i have reduced eating foods which contains sugar ( Being a bengali its very difficult ) and it has done a lot of good to me.
Secondly a lot depends on your eating habbits and the way of living. Disciplined life style and even 30 mins brisk walking can get u the desried fitness level you want. Iam firmly against all these starving theory and i always try to eat things raw. Instead of cooking vegetable its better if u eat it raw.
Amd secondly i consume Raw eggs too everyday which i wont recommened at this moment of time.
Cheers,
Tutul

Well I had a really good article written up for you and firefox crashed so I lost it. I really had some things to say I thought you might find useful.
To obtain physical fitness we just need a goal of what fitness means to us. To me I mainly work with weights and push ups to help develop my muscles to look a little better. Some people like my sister might want to use some type of activity to lose weight.
Weight machines are nice and I'd like to have a few but you don't need expensive equipment to work out. Go to https://www.qualityhealth.com/locateSubmitAction and read some of their articles.
If you will stick with it long enough to see just a little result, then i promise you that will be all the motivation you will ever need again to see things through to your goals! And I' I'm here to tell you I put myself on a program I made up on my own because I had no help or support but I found it inside myself and it only took me 3 weeks to really see some results and I'm my worst critic so you know I had results. If you want something go and get it especially your health cause you need good health for many reasons.

Ah, don't worry about it. My keyboard was old so I changed to another old one but it isn't sticking as bad so it's easier to write now. Most sites let you write your article in something else and then paste it in the text box but not mylot until you get to 500 posts.
I hope you lots of luck and success.

Strict diets or starvation won't solve the problem. I'm currently working on losing weight - by eating right and drinking plenty of water. Due to health issues I haven't been able to exercise yet. But, I've lost 29 lbs since the first of the year simply by cutting back on junk food, pop and drinking more water. Strict diets and starving yourself will only backfire and cause your body to rebel and pack on the pounds.

You might want to know about this Hibernation Diet. I find it hard to believe at first, but very logical when I read the scientific explanation on how our body metabolism works in the day and at night when we sleep.

I am thinking about doing what me & my mom did a long time ago. We watched what we ate Monday to Thursday & then Friday, Saturday & Sunday ate what we wanted but in moderation. We also took walks together & I would ride bikes, horses & went swimming with my daughters. Those were the days. I want to get back to doing those kinds of things again. I do not believe in starving oneself you never stick to the diet for you feel like you are being punished. Also has anyone tried the Acai Berry with green tea. I want something to help give me energy. I have heard about B vitamins to give energy. That is my biggest problem is the energy. I am over 50 & I thought it might be hormones. I have talked to a doctor but no avail for help. I am not going on hormone treatment. I also have thought about silk milk for soy. I do believe in natural treatments. Any thought on this????

Hi cjforeverknight! That's such nice unique idea. Even I have heard that a change of routine eating pattern every few days keeps the metabolism active. Thankyou!
Nope, I haven't ever tried Acia Berry with green tea or even green tea alone. But if it gives energy while on diet control, then its a good thing. Thanks once again.
What is silk milk? I haven't heard of it.

i feel that working out is a good answer to this problem, but it definitely needs a healthy diet too. some people workout very hard so as to try to lose weight, but after that go for a great unhealthy dinner, thinking 'i have worked so hard and lost so much weight today, let me enjoy myself more. losing so much weight and gaining a little won't hurt afterall...' THIS IS WRONG! lols.. we should always keep a healthy diet and excercise frequently.
dieting... this is where anorexia nervosa comes in. i remember a group in my class during project work, they were researching on anorexia nervosa. gross.. D= but seriously, healthy eating plays a big role in keeping fit. most people think that eating makes us gain weight, so eating less will make us lose weight! wrong concept altogether... why go to such extents to lose weight? just to look good? look sexy? is it even worth it? =.= not at all, in my opinion. =D

Thanks for giving another point of view. The psychology of an aspirant weight looser and the binging and bad food choice later. Also the psychsomatic disorder possible. I respect your opinion. :-D

This is a very important discussion Daffodil and I really appreciate. There had been a phase in my life when I was overly conscious with my health and was doing everything to reduce ponds. But Soon, I realised that I was getting weak and was starving and sulking. Half the energy level was going down and I became less productive in my workplace. That was the last thing I had wanted. Before it could get any worse I tried to reverse my obsession. Now, I do healthy eating and have adopted a healthy lifestyle more than anything else. And trust me, it helped a lot. I have reduced on the intake of ice creams and soft drinks and fries. My weight has reduced after that. But I cannot give up chocolates! How can I! They motivate me like anything.

Thats so true. when you starve, you get so weepy and unhappy. Eating healthy allows you to eat a reasonable amount so that you don't feel hungry. Only thing is, it doesn't taste yummy. For that ocassional pizzas and chocolates are fine.

I have lost weight early last year, I was so happy to get rid of 10 kilos off my weight
A regular daily exercise, a balance diet and eat slowly are the best key to lose weight. I didn't starve myself during that period. I still eat chocolates!

Actually most diets never work...you go on them, lose a little weight and then go off them and gain it all, plus more, right back. It's more about a change in lifestyle. You have to get into a routine of working out...just like taking a shower or washing your hands after using the bathroom. You also have to learn about making better choices in foods and portion control.
Also the minute your mind tells your body your going on a diet, your body starts hoarding away all the food you eat b/c it thinks it's going into starvation mode...it makes it harder to lose the weight. If you just start changing your eating habits, your body doesn't know it. Sounds crazy, but it's true.

I do diet due to the health reason. Nowadays our food is not that healthy, more preservatives and colours. I try to diet because I do not want to get ill T_T, obesity, cholesterol, diabetes and so on. So I try to plan my food. In the morning, I drink water after I wake up. I drink milk and some bread as my breakfast, rice and other dishes in the afternoon, and eat some food before night. At night I try not to eat anything :D. Do not forget to eat fruits (or you can juice it)and also vegetables. Sometimes, it's hard for me because I live in the hostel, so I do not have more choice to eat. I try my best to do my diet. It's work for me!

Fitness is the a state of mind. I was heavily overweight and promised myself that i will do something about it.I tried to diet, but ended up gaining more weight.I ate more when i was dieting. This went on for six years.I started walking short distances daily and did not increase my food intake.Everyday i added a bit more physical activity to my daily routine.I even take my paremts dog for a walk with me now.He is a big dog and it takes a lot of energy to keep him under control. All you need to do is take the first step by taking short walks. You will feel good. You can also try a programme that will surprise with results you never thought possible. It is called diet solutions.Check it out for yourself and se what can happen. Here is the link: http//tinyurl.com.daeoye .You can transform yourself if you really want to.

Physical fitness is surely an important factor. However to feel good as you are is more important.I also want beautiful figure so i go to a gym nearly everyday thats all. I am not too complex for my figure. Before i did try to starve for one or two days but then I got gastric which is still in me so! I prefer my aerobic classes now.
