How random is your life?

Have you stoped to think how random our lives are? It's like this: you are born in a certain place so you tend to have friends that live there, you'll go to a school near to your house, get a job, earn money, find a person that 'strikes' you and marry and have a family. And then you die. think about it. if you were born in another place things would be completly different. So what's the point of all this? Can't you choose anything? Are you supposed to live your life according to this routine. I think this is really stupid.
