Why can't we be Happy with what we have?

i think this is every person's story that he is not happy with what he get's but he compares it with what others have and want to have the stuff they have i know its Human nature but can't we change it why can't we be Happy anyways why do we always strive for More? please help me

Like they say the grass is always greener in the neighbours yard. But I have to say that I am very happy with what I have.
I did however spend about 40 years not being happy with I had even when I had a lot more than others around me. I always knew someone that I wanted to do better than so I always had a reason not to be satisfied but now at the age of 56 I finally am happy with all that I have.
