I would try an ice pack on your neck, but if it continues you may need to see a doctor, for you may have nerve damage. Believe me ice really does help. Or it could be your chair you are using. Is it making you look down more than straight ahead??? And is your arms at a correct level for you??? Also I do what I call a neck stretch....I take and look straight ahead & then just move my shoulders, my neck & sometimes just sit back in your chair & relax your neck. And also maybe a little small dose of aspirin if tolerant. Good luck, I understand about pain, for I am recovering from shoulder surgery.

Do you have a laptop? Sometimes I like to lean back against something comfortable with the laptop on my lap. If you don't have a laptop, you'll just have to get up and stretch, take a small break from the computer. Try to sit with your back straight and shoulders thrown back while you are on the computer.

Hi bamboo,
You have to take small small break - take a walk and work again. pain in the neck can lead you to more strain, do a small exercise, like rolling your neck and bend forward and then backward. at night help yourself with a hot water bag. many times sitting poster are not correct but sometime posture is correct but working long on the PC can lead to the pain. so exercise more... enjoy :)

Try to take a break after every hour when working on the computer.Lie down on the bed for atleast an hour. You will not feel the pain. Also try to take warm water bath.It will relax your body.It will also help the blood flow in the body that will ease the pain.If the pain is severe at night.Pop one pain killer and go to sleep.
