I rarely launch instant messenger client when I am connected to the internet. most of the time, when I am at computer, I am web surfing. I only use instant messenger when I am in need to figure something out from my buddies. I always use email to stay in touch with my friends. in email, I can put things in more detail and in a much organized way. I really don't like the distraction while I am surfing the net and instant messenger can be a distraction.

i think email is a lot better because it is still a lot better than sending letters out and wasting a lot of paper. im is just to have a convo that you can have over a phone. there is nothing wrong with it.

I prefer email for several reasons. First of all it means that's one less thing I have to have running on my computer. (If I don't have a messenger up.) Plus, a lot of times I'm at my computer but am busy doing other things and really don't want to talk on a messenger. Even with an away message up, people still IM you if they see you're not idle. Plus, i'd much rather just type out all my thoughts in an email and talk with someone that way. It's much faster, as long as you don't mind waiting for a response.

I prefer to communicate with my friends via emails. On my old computer I had installed an instant messenger, and I used it sometimes to chat with my friends, but I didn't install it on my new computer and I don't miss it. I love writing long emails to my friends, there are times when I don't manage to write very often, but I always answer my mail. I enjoy receiving emails from my friends and relatives. Emails has made communication a lot easier and faster, and I think that is great.
