Do you start a draft before writing an actual essay?

In school, We were always required to write some essays. Would you rather start a draft first? Because a draft can jot down your brainstorming ideas first, and you can revise them later on. It might be useful.

To be honest, I never really draft. I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to writing, so I write out my "Final Draft" and then just make minor tweaks. It takes about the same time as writing drafts, I'd say.

I've allways just created a bullet list of things to cover and just plough on in.
