Ideally a lover would be both. In the longest relationship I've ever had (3 years) my boyfriend was also my best friend. I think a lot of people feel this way

its like asking wether which is important? sun or moon??
both are essential..
these are the relationships that comes unexpected by the heart.
so we cant judge wether to share with this or that..
thats the true heart.

I say friend, they will be there no matter what. Lovers come and go. You can not rely on a lover unless they are your friend. A husband/wife would be another option but I think my friend will be there even longer than a spouse. So yes it would be friend!
