Not with his up coming boxing match with Hatton this coming May 2nd, but with his political plans. Not yet. I don't think 2010 elections is the right time for Manny Pacquiao to run for higher public position. He could start first by becoming a mayor. I agree that he wants to help as many people as he by running for a congressional seat, but it's not yet the time. Start small then think big, eka nga nila He needs to learn more. He needs experience. How can he be a good public servant if right now he's breaking the law. I'm talking about his actions lately about who to broadcast his up coming fight. He signed a contract with solar and GMA-7 and now he's going to violate the terms, even terminate, in the contract. More than the news right now and his plans of running for a congressional seat, the Nation still needs him. He is the champion of the people. A natural treasure. If he retires at the end of this year who will make as proud and pick us up when were down with the present crisis we are in? He is one of the popular, if not the most, Filipino right now. Start small then think big...
Thank you so much for having the time to read my discussion. Have a nice day. Happy posting!!

You got me there with your catchy title.
Manny has big political dreams, seems right to start small coz most filipinos won't think he has what it takes to run for office any seat at that, he has to prove something first. He may be a hero in the boxing ring but when it comes to politics he's a little wet behind the ears.

My mother would be happy because she wholeheartedly agrees with you.
Personally, I still want Manny to win the fight, but with the way things are going, I think he's beginning to have an inflated ego. It's a good thing to become the pride of the Filipino people, but still... Manny is beginning to bug me.
Right now, after having read this post, I'm beginning to feel undecided about the whole thing. I feel that Manny should learn a lesson soon.

Hey there! Yeah, he will learn a lesson soon if he insisted and pursued with televising his fight at ABS-CBN. Manny is not a man of his words. This is not the first time he did it but twice(or maybe more than twice). Thanks for responding and sharing here. Have a nice day. Happy posting!!

Wow! Why the animosity to Manny Pacquiao nowadays?
If MP really did good in preparing for the fight and is much better than Hatton, then he deserves to win. Why would we want him to fail the boxing match just because there is a brouhaha over the airing contract of the fight? Personally, I still want him to win. I still think he is a very good boxer.
As for the airing of the May 2 match, I would like to see how this would materialize in court. It's a very interesting issue and with the publicity it is gaining now, for sure, many will want to share the limelight somehow specially now that the 2010 election is fast approaching.
I'm sorry but I do agree with other responses that there's no right time for MP for politics just like others who no nothing about running a public office. If he really wanted to help, then he should devote himself first to study what a public office really meant before even trying to grab one.

I don't think winning against Hatton would put Pacquiao to a political edge. He has tried running for national office as a representative last elections but he didn't win. I guess Philippine voters have matured now. A lot of actors, singers and sportsman who dreamt of becoming politicans didn't win a post. It would be better for him to assess his choices well before leaping.

manny pacquiao is better off without politics. i think he is a good person and that those people around him convincing him to run for a political post has an ulterior motive for themselves. i hope this time manny has learned his lesson well due to losing athe congressional seat when he run for office last election. he can still help the people in his own little way even without joining politics.
nevertheless, we Filipinos are still very proud of manny due to the pride and glory he has brought for our country.

I agree with you. Being a Congressman is a daunting position with daunting tasks. However, if you take a look at Congressmen who have started as Mayors or something smaller, a lot of them have done nothing but suck up all the nation's coffers. What more harm Manny Pacquiao can do? If he's there to help the poeple then maybe they're better off with an unexperienced politician than with the more experienced but corrupt one. In our region, our Governor has no political experience at all before this but he was able to win the election because he descended from a very poweful political family and they're known to cheat in all of the elections they were in.
Our political system is a mess right now. We put so much faith in education and we get really impressed with people who speak fluently in english. Oh, I'm so tired with these kind of people. If Kris Aquino will run for presidency next term then I'm gonna go all out to support her. I mean, it's high time to look for leaders who has a heart than what is in his resume or political experience. Take a closer look at our political leaders these days. What have they done so far? We are in a deeper mess than ever before.
About his legal battle with Solar Sports, I think it's his prerogative to choose which station he wants partnership with. I mean, it should all boil down to the fine prints in his contract. If he can wriggle out of it then good for him. Obviously, he's not happy with the way Solar handled the broadcasts of his previous fights and really, who can resist ABS-CBN? I think, Solar is already making a lot of money out of Pacquiao and they said they have two more years worth of leash on Pacquiao. Well, they should have made Pacquioa happier in the earlier days so that the man would honor their contract without question. Well, now that he wants out then best of luck to him.
And I have no doubt Pacquiao will win.
I am not really Pacquiao's biggest fan but a lot of things in this country, especially, our politics are worse than him so he can't be that bad after all.
Thanks!

I don't like him to be at politics also. Running for government seat would not come to his mind if not for the people behind or sorrounding him. He excel in sports so why not concentrate on sports, if he wants to retire in boxing fine, he can do other business related to sports particularly boxing, anyway this sport brought him wealth. Now if he really want to serve the people, all the time. Like other people's opinion he can start being a mayor to gain experience and know how. He could decide for himself later for a much higher position no longer influenced by others who just want to take advantage of his popularity. Finally if he want to win he must avoid negative actions like what he did with GMA-7, it's time for him to make friends and do pleasant things for a good karma.

Hi altheGreat2430, good day to you my kababayan. Well as the first i saw your title in your discussion, i thought you do not want manny paquiao to win the match against hatton, but when i read the message inside you proved me wrong. Then i know that you only want manny to loss in his government career. Well for me like those Filipino people i really want manny to win his fight against hatton because the popularity of our country was depend in the fight. But just like you, i do not want manny to win in his government career because if he will win in that election it is too abuse for other because we all know that manny is already popular then he will run in the government to increase his popularity. Well i think if manny pacquioa really want to help other people may be he should try give manny to other poor people and start a good program to other people in order for them to earn money for there needs. As of now most of the Filipino are waiting for a good benifits when pacquioa win that fight to hatton. And last i think many pacquiao must be smart and avoid those politician that are only using him to be popular and to cover for popularity to other people. As i know most of the Filipino politician are really smart which they use people to show that they are doing good things to other. Well that is all my response to your forum topic discussion entitled "i don't like manny pacquiao to win the game". I hope i give a very good response to your discussion. Happy posting and happy earning to you my kababayan! ! ! Mabuhay! Thank you and GODBLESS!

Probably you are right in the way you said that Manny is getting this big head thing now. And about his candidacy for the 2010 elections, well sad to hear that he is choosing another station and violated his contract just because he is eyeing for a position.
It is good to say that he will serve his country by running to the 2010 election, but is he really ready in terms of responsibility? well, we cannot judge what is really in his heart, but since Politics is really dirty, i think he will just be manipulated by bigger men in this kind of path he will choose.
I still want him to win, although the ego of what he can do now, even ditch some stations for personal attainment and all, we'll i guess he is changing his personality now. I just had a feeling that he will lose this next boxing match, but i still hope not. Happy Mylotting!

As a Filipino, I still want to see him win this coming battle. Being a boxer and a politician are two different fields. With all the crisis I guess they will know what to do and who to vote. But for now I want to see how and what will be the strategy of Pacman this coming May.

I agree with you. I think if he really wants to run for political position he should run small in the meantime and from there he could stage himself from going up high. I also would want him to pursue further his career in boxing as he has proven to us that he is good at that. I am just curios who is trying to woo him into politics. I am fearing that he might just be used by some politicians if he gets the bait for it. In boxing he is the king but in politics he might just become a clown and an underdog in there.
With regards to the scandal he went into I guess there is someone from within his circle who makes decision for it. I really think that there is someone from the inside who doesn't think of the consequences well and Oh well it is Manny's name who will suffer in this matter. I guess now it is money that really talks around in here and we'll see if there is indeed a resolution to this matter until his fight.

i still want him to win but if that might be the key that he would be part of somewhere connected to saving philippines as a "politiko" then i would rather wish he would just stick to boxing.
no offense though. he can always help our country even if he will not enter boxing. if he does, he would only be just this puppet - i have respect for Manny for he has gone beyond hardhsip to have gain what he has now but he would be a real disgrace if he's impulsive enough again to join in the next election.
i hope he would think of his family. politics is never easy and everyday, the lives of his loved ones would be at stake.

I am agree with your opinion about Manny Pacquiao candidacy or i mean trying to get involved in politics. He is at present hero in our country many are idolizing him in terms of boxing and most of the young's are trying to be like him someday. He is big hope for those young and poor who has a dreams to be a boxer. In politics better not to go in a hurry try to start in a small position to be able to master the position he is trying to be..

I think Pacquiao need not to play any political arena, He wont be of great help to his fellow man. If he retires this year, fine I don't mind, we can still produce many great Filipinos to be proud of. Besides, its better to retire while your in the height of your fame than retire as a loser and be forgotten forever. If Pacquiao wins in congress, he might turn the house of representatives into a gym, lol. Just kidding, he is better be know as a boxing champ not as a political boxer. We can always help many people without going to politics, he can share his riches to foundations charities and the like no need to be another scam of the goverment to eat again money of the people. Manny has all the riches in the world he needs no politics to gain more riches again.

Hi :-),
Well, its politics and we have this democracy. For me, I would not jump to conclusion that if manny pacquiao will win in politics, he has an unacceptable management. What's good about manny is that he has the charisma which he could use over his subordinates to work very hard and fulfill a very good management. Popularity of him, i would also say is a one factor for him to get a very good management because the community might dare to follow and support his rules and regulations. That's one positive side i perceive about Manny winning the politics but then again our politics is so subtle. We can't predict our politics future. Maybe he could convince the crowd for a better community.
Happy mylotting.
Have a wonderful day ahead. :-)

When he joined the last election, i was kinda bit shocked and kinda bit mad at him. What he was doing that time is really a big and a wrong move. For me, he should just stick to boxing rather than running for a position in the government.
I know applying to be a president is not that hard, but, we don't need popular person to sit in the president seat or whatever part of the government seat.
I prefer him in the ring that in the office. hahaha. You can really see how a true pinoy loves his country.
