I have never flew before unless you count my temper flying off..lol Seriously I am way to much of a chicken..bock..bock..to get on a airplane. It is just to far off the ground for my liking..I know it is a safe way to travel, but to many back flashes of plane wrecks, bombings, hijackings for me to be to comfortable with it, well that and my fear of heights..lol

Well he would have to have a pretty thick sole to that shoe then otherwise he would have nothing but a stub left if that.. it probably gets easier..I guess I take my fear of flying after Mr.T on the A-Team..they always had to knock him out with stuff to get him on a plane..lol

I went to Kenya, but mixed with the culture and people, it was a big eye opener in the fact that they are so poor and yet happy with their lot and to others, and how we in the west are so rich with all our material possessions etc when over there they have nothing. To see women carrying water from the nearest tap on their head where we take the tap water in our homes for granted...I wwould love to go back at sometime and will do somehow!...hugs LoLo xx

Sometimes we forget how fortunate we are over here LoLo. Even the poorest over here has access to facilities that millions around the world would love ti have. Clean running water and heat just by turning on the gas/electric. Actually, just to have a roof over their heads. XXXX

In December I flew to and from the Hawaiian Islands. It was a sad flight home. We were not ready to leave just yet.

Oh yes, we are constantly thinking about when our next trip out there will be.
I remember watching Hawaii 5-0 as a kid. Jack Lord's mom lived in the little town I was living in at the time.

I've never flown on a commercial airline, but my dad had a plane. It was an old Taylorcraft. He liked to do aerial photography, so sometimes he'd take the doors off the plane so he could get unobstructed pictures. Once I flew with him, and the doors were off. I gripped the seat and realized my seatbelt was torn off. I never flew again after that.

Hmmm I have not flown for a few years now. The last time was 2 years ago when I flew down to attend my nephew's wedding. My brother very kindly paid the fair for me so I could attend.
I would love to visit them more often but it is a huge trip for me these days, costs a lot in energy and money and they are all very busy at the other end so I would not see much of them unless they were on holiday. They could come up and see me but no one has done that yet.

Quite true. I have two brothers. The eldest keeps in touch and keeps promising to come and visit one day. The other one lives 5 mins away from the eldest and almost never visits him. He really keeps to himself.
I am quite happy with my life here and have no wish to go back to the city. I do sometimes wonder how I would manage if it was just me but hopefully that will not be a problem for many years yet.

I meant to ask Ellie. Did she sell her house? I think that we will see an increase in the cost of "cheap" flights soon. That hasn't happened yet, but I suspect that more people will holiday at home thus reducing the requirement for so many flights and pushing the price up.

The last flight I took was Manila-Boracay-Manila last September 2008. I remember that there was a typhoon that time but luckily I arrived to Boracay safely.

I have never, ever been on a plane. I've been in a helicopter a couple of times, but I can't bring myself to fly on a plane.

Oh wow! You just made me think, that I haven't flown for about 10 years. We used to fly so regularly, 3-4 times a year visiting different countries and exploring them. We did it so much, that we thought we would take a break from it. Didn't think it would be this long though - Derek

The last time I flew was several years ago. I went home to see my children. I was so excited. Then I got in line to check in and I realized I actually had to get on a plane and I hadn't been on one in years. I froze and was terrified. When the plane took off, I literally gripped the arms of the seat. Of course, I got through it and the flight home was a lot less frightening.

hi pike.the last flight i took was a few weeks ago from newcastle to the gold coast of Queensland.I wish it was international, but alas it was just interstate.we had a holiday.the cheap airfares we sometimes get are really good,it is a lot cheaper to fly than drive,so i am going to queensland in 2 weeks time to see a friend and it only cost me $60.00 return.you nrver know they may have a good special to the u.k and i might end up on your door step.cheers sue

The last time I took a flight, it was to come home from Missouri. I remember that I had my first cup of Starbucks in months and couldn't stop talking to one of the other girls who was flying home that day as well. I also remember loading up my bag full of books and magazines to read on the flight back. Asides from all of that, I remember that I sat next to two young kids in the back of the plane. It wasn't the most pleasant flight that I've had, but I was happy to be headed home.
