I am a big Stephen King fan! He's brilliant...but a few of his books/stories I don't like. I think he writes stuff that you are either going to LOVE or say "what the h*ll was that" after you've read them... Some of his books I loved were The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, Misery (kept me up!

I was always fond of the Gunslinger series, myself.

That's awesome. You're not officially farther into the series than I got. I wish I had time for free reading--I read hours a day of textbook material, plus a few minutes a day of this (mylot) and other things... Keep reading! Keep posting! dr...

Well now I have read books 1-4 of the Gunslinger series, plus I read Wolves of the Calla a long time ago, but I am going to read it again just so I can be really familar with the whole story before I continue on to the next book.

I think Stephen King is amazing! I've read nearly all of his books and seen a lot of the films. IT is my favourite by far, I saw the film first when I was a kid and it scared the s**t out of me, then I read the book and it's loads scarier. The fact that it's a monster using a clown's image to take and kill children is just freaky. Cujo isn't that great, it's the only Stephen King book that I don't like.

I started watching It, and I had to stop at the Chinese Restraunt scene...when they started opening their fortune cookies and all tat CREEPY AWFUL stuff started coming out...I was done, changed the channel and never looked back. I'm not even going to TRY to get through the book lol. I don't think I'd make it--it actually seems TOO disturbing for me. Another of his I can't get myself to read is, I think called Dolores Clairbourne...sounds TOO disturbing for me lol. I did not read Cujo, saw the movie. it was okay. I felt sorry for the dog since he was in pain lol (if I understood the movie right). But I dont really make a point to watch the movies, I'm usually not that thrilled with them, I never enjoy them as much as the books.

I just don't think that Cujo was as good as he could of made it. It just wasn't as scary as his other books. You really should try reading IT, it's just so great.

I'm a Stephen King fan myself but I have to say that I'm more fond of his short story collections..I LOVE Everythings Eventual and though I have The Sunset, I've not read anything out of it yet..Gerards Game I've not read...I enjoyed The Cell EXCEPT for the ending..the ending SUCKED IMO...Night Shift I enjoyed, as with Desperation...IT I own but have never read...Liseys Story is a book I owned, couldnt get into it so I gave it away..you know..come to think of it I own several Stephen King books but havent gotten around to reading some of them LOL..As much as I love King, I'm even more partial to Clive Barker...

I read Liseys Story..and that was did take me a LONG time to get into (same with Geralds Game)...but once it reached it's peak it really got good. It's hard for me to stop a book, even if I'm not enjoying it--because i like to think it has to go somewhere...there has only been one book that 100% disappointed me from beginning to end, but it wasn't one of Stephen Kings. The Cell or Cell? I don't know if they are both Stephen Kings, but I do have Cell on my list, haven't gotten that one yet though. Are you talking about one that is actually about the Cell phones, or the one that is based on the Jennifer Lopez movie?

I love Stephen King movies also. I really like the movie Christine that came out years ago. You have to see that one if you haven't already. It is kind of scary.

Christine is the one with the car right? I did see that one. I get why people would like it, but it just isn't my kind of movie. But most Stephen King movies are like that...I just prefer reading his books. Pet Semetary was a really scary movie though (didn't read the book).

I liked Firestarter - but its the only one of his I've ever read - I'm just not into horror and Firestarter is science fiction.

Aww see, I'm not huge on Science Fiction :P Hehe. But I have heard of fire starter. The movie didn't seem like it would interest me, so I'm not sure the book would either.

Lol I understand being scared to read him...his book I just finished, Geralds Game...I actually had to STOP reading it, or I knew I wasn't going to get to sleep lol. I always like to read before bed, and I was like...okay I have to make myself stop! :P bur I can recommend a couple of his books that are really good, but not like "AHHH scary" :P They are called The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon and Eyes of the Dragon. Two well written, mildy creepy but in no way scary as his others, books :D
