I go to the thrift store all the time, not looking for clothes so much as other items that they might have, nick nacks, sometimes holiday decorations, furniture like dressers that you can redo, just looking for something interesting. As for clothes sometimes I have found really nice things that still have the tags on them, I got my daughter a pair of pj's in one store with tags on them from Khol's I called them when I got home and ask if they could tell me if they was theirs and how much they was, $38. for these pj's, apparently something that someone got as a gift and didn't like. As for used sometimes I buy the t-shirts and some of the pj's but I have seen some really nice blazers and coats you have to look through the stuff and see what you can find, I see a lot of things that look worn out, no I would not buy something like that, many people depend on the used stores for clothes because of them being low income. Others find great used clothes and they always look well dressed. No one should say they would never buy clothes from a goodwill or other used store as we never know what can happen to us down the road in life and used clothes might look dang good to us.

I used to feel the same way as you do, but changed my mind last year. Last year, I came into a little extra money to burn, and desperately needed a new pair of jeans..I was all set to get a new brand of Levis or something, but decided to look at ebay. I not only wound up buying one pair of jeans but THREE....all were pre-worn and looked like new...and get this, they were designer jeans to boot...one pair was a Calvin Klein, another Ralph Lauren, and another Versace....the Ralph Lauren I got for a mere 99-cents...that's right 99 cents! For all three I paid the price of NEW single pair of Levis

Well it's not like I might catch cholera or malaria here in America...and one can't "catch" cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure or anything like that--I just don't think in those terms

I would not go and buy used clothes but if it happens that a friend has something nice that does not fit and she asks if I want it, then I might. This has happened before too. A friend has a sister who lost a lot of weight through dieting and nothing fitted her any more. She bought new clothes and gave away the others. She gave me a lovely coat, almost brand new. It is almost worn out now too because I have worn it so often

Its ok to wear clothes taken from known people rather than weaing clothes of unknown people.Who knows what disease they had before you bought them.Eventhough nothing happens if we wear the clothes which was worn by a person with a disease but it makes us feel bad that you are wearing such clothes.

Hi, krupesh. I have no problem of wearing used clothes. I have to wash it thoroughly first, though, and maybe soak it with Lysol. However, I do not like buying used clothes myself. I find it a waste of money because, from experience, I only regretted my purchases. In other words, I am not a good used clothes hunter. If someone who's good at that chooses and buys them for me, then they look good on me, then I have no problem wearing them. Have a nice day!

Yes, I wear used clothes. Why not? But it also depends on what kind of the clothes is, if they are underwears/shoes, of course, I won't buy it. If they are jackets, coats or trousers, I don't mind at all. But I seldom buy second hand clothes, I have a habbit that whenever I cleared my old clothes, I took those to my mum's house, then she scanned the clothes and gave those beautiful and good-looking to my relatives. Sometimes, my relatives would put some used clothes at my mum's house, I will pick some of the clothes if I can wear/I like. And I wear used clothes from friends too.

Over the yrs. I have worn used clothes, and even been known to buy second hand clothes from a Thrift store, etc. as well. I would rather buy my clothes brand New from the Clearance racks in stores, or good sales, but if I really need something I have taken used as well. But most of the time when it comes to second hand clothes I will get them from friends I know, or from places like Freecycle.com where people are giving away clothes and such as well.

I wear second hand clothes often. Would go to this thirft shop that's downtown which has all kinds of 2nd hand stuff and look for cheap stuff. I have found good pair of pants, skirts, blouse, books and some kitchen items there. I would wash them before using them and some of the stuff I got from this shop are still new so I do not mind wearing used clothes. Recently my sister in law gained some weight so she handed me some of her clothes as well...those that I like and fit me, I washed them before wearing. It's okay to me as long it's in "wearable condition". Saved me a lot of money than going to the mall to buy a brandnew one.

I love used clothes especially when they are free. Many of my friends give me clothes they no longer want. My mom gave me an expensive pair of sport shoes last year that she only wore for 1 month. I needed a pair, so I was thrilled to get a good brand without having to spend money. When I was in the States, I shopped thrift stores and had a killer wardrobe of used clothes. I had a lot of really expensive, high quality, things that I could never have afforded if they were new.

Hey, Well for me I don't really mind if I wear second hand clothes. The only thing I hate, is to wear 2nd hand clothes that I have seen someone else wearing before. I absolutely hate that. So as long as I haven't seen someone else wear those same clothes, I don't really have a problem with that. But it all depends on how good the clothes are, I certainly don't want to be wearing clothes that are all ripped, or have sweat marks on it if you know what I mean.

I have no problem wearing used clothes. You can find alot of really nic secind-hand clothes if you just look for them. Why spend a lot of money on clothes f you don't have to? I always wash them before I wear them, and have never had any problems.

I wear used clothes and I'm not ashamed to say it. I used to get hand-me-downs from my mom's co-workers kids. Me and my cousin are the same height, but he weighs more than me, and he gives me a lot of his stuff when it shrinks or if he can't fit it anymore. People will say "Hey man, where'd you get that shirt?" and I'll tell them "My cousin gave it to me because it didn't fit him anymore."

I myself have gone to Salvation army and to mom-to-mom sales for the clothes of my son and daughter, babys grow out of things so fast to pay full price is crazy at that rate and the clothes I have gotten are in such good condition and many of them still had the tags on them. It is just good to save money at this time in the economy.

What is the problem with used clothes? As long as they are in good condition who will know they are used? I bought a beautiful linen dress from a thrift store last summer that looked brand new. It had no stains or odors though I washed it immediately. The money I spent will go to programs to help people who are less fortunate and I only spent about $3 for the dress wich is a pretty green color with embroidery. Brand new it would have cost a fortune. My stepmother and a friend always let me know when they are clearing out their closets in case there is something they no longer need that I can use. It is a good way to save money and refresh your wardrobe.

absolutely! As long as the clothes are in good condition (which coming from places like Salvation Army and Goodwill they usually are) and I'm getting name brands for a 1/4 the price why wouldnt I??

It depends where it comes from. I won't buy used clothes from a yard sale where it looked dirty. I buy a lot of second hand clothes for my kids because they grow out of stuff so fast. I think as long as you are getting the clothes from a clean person it isn't bad.

There are so many people in my school that prefer to buy clothes that they never wear. Perhaps it's because they never suit them or they just shopping for fun. I cannot deny that some of their clothes are really nice and what's more, they are almost new. I once bought a nice looking Nike T-shirt with less than half of its price. It's amazing that she never wored it before. There is a so-called market here in my school where students who are going to graduate can sell what they don't want to take away with them. Most of the sellers sell books, and of course clothes. They are extremely cheap. However I have to calm myself down because shopping there can also cost me a lot of money.

if the clothes are of good quality then yeah why not, its a case of re-cycling tho I wouldnt wear anything that was a low quality or under wear obviously but if it was say a pair of jeans or a top then yeah not problems. Its just another way of re-cycling which is always good for the planet.
