If you live in Ohio, you absolutely must begin a mass education and informational campaign. This resolution has been introduced in 20 states now and has failed in a few because of misinformation, lack of understanding and a severely negligent lack of media coverage. Please, get out there, start punding the pavement, start calling friends, blogging, writing news papers, calling state reps, putting up signs, passing out literature, go to committee meetings, go to the state capitol when the vote is schedualed and show your support peacefully but firmly . We need as many states as possible to get this through and begin whipping the federal government back in to propper constitutional shape. This movement may well be are only and last chance at averting an outright second revolutoionary war.

X, it really makes me laugh that all of these right wingers feel that their rights under the constitution are being threatened. Where were all of you when the patriot act was being debated? This was a document that walked all over the constitution, and these same people that are upset today, supported it 1000%. Wheren't you upset when the government knew what books you were reading? Did the government record your phone calls with out you committing a crime, or require a warrant? This is what the patriot act did, and after Bush and Cheney left office the White House released some of the information about this act. I live in Ohio, and I am not worried about the soviergnty of my state, or nation.

For CRIPE sakes, are you ABSOULTELY INCAPABLE of defending your man on his own merrits? Is it REALLY that difficult? I hate using this term but your response fits exactly what I consider the definition of a SHEEP. You saw Obama's name and you absolutely couldn't help yourself, your first reaction was pointing back to Bush. Now, argue his polies on their own merrit if you truly believe they are right.
Where was when the patriot act was being debated? I was waking up, thats where I was. Are you now ok with the patriot act that Obama is in office? I hope so, because it is being extended until 2017.
So you are perfedctly ok with the federal government assuming powers over your state it isn't suposed to? you want all your states regulating to come from DC instead of from the people in your state? Your perfectly ok with a centralized general government instead of a republic? Are you perfectly ok with DC bribing and blackmailing your state in to passing conforming regulations? You are SERIOUSLY ok with all of this? You really do not realize how much of your statehood you have already lost and that is the more disturbing part. But hey, it's your state so who am I to tell you how to run it or even if you should run it. If you are perfectly content to have Ohio run from Washington and your state government nothing more than a puppet magistrate than go for it.
Oh, and this isn't a right winger issue, this isn't about republicans vs democrats. You have been fooled along with many others in to falling right in to that.

Glad to see more jumping on board. Unfortunately in my state it has hit an unexpected snag. The minority in our state house is calling it a "racist" move, saying the republicans are only trying to pass this due to a "black man being president". It passed subcommittee but such a mess has been caused by it that it may not make it up for a full vote. We are still pushing for it. But it is keeping kinda ugly here in SC over it. Basically anyone supporting it is being labeled a racist by the local democratic party. Not that being called that is going to stop most of us from supporting it.

Last I checked which was last week it had not. I will check and see if it got pushed forward. But the subcommitte vote was nasty. It passed. But some really bad names were thrown back and forth in there. Including the race card. We had a group go up and watch and it. I can get you the notes if you want to see what was said.
