To what extent do you believe in mystics?

I read this horrifying news article today stating that an Indian businessman had been arrested for raping his daughter. He committed this crime as a mystic had told him that doing so would enable him to gain wealth. I think that this is going too far when it comes to listening to mystics. I believe mystics sometimes, once even paying $600 for a bracelet that a fortune teller said will bring me good luck (which it didn't, believe me). How about you? To what extent have you believed the words of fortune tellers and mystics?
