Did you know Obama made a joke about Special Olympics? Apparently when he was on Jay Leno, he compared his bowling game to being like that of a mentally retarded person. Talk about insensitive...I know he apologized for the joke, but to me, there's no excuse for something like that coming out of the President's mouth. I have a mentally challenged cousin, and I know how hard it's been for him in life. He's forty now, and it's not going to get much better for him. What's next for Obama? Comedy Central? I remember seeing Richard Nixon on LaughIn, but that was after he'd resigned.

Here's my opinion. Everyone's mad because it's the President. If it were anyone else, any normal person like you or me, who made this joke, it wouldn't be such a big deal. People make these types of jokes all the time. I don't agree with them, not at all, but I don't understand why Americans want to instigate just because President Obama said it!

If it were any of us normal people we'd have the aclu and the adf on us 24/7 and a dozen lawsuits. Either way, President Bush, President Obama, Citizen joe shmoe, it was a tastless flippant remark made on national tellevision. If I owned a company and my Ceo made a remark like that on national television, I would fire him.
o, welcome to mylot by the way.

Youtube has 2 videos of him giving Hillary and McCain the nonchalantly rubbing his middle finger at them. Nothing surprises me about his immaturity. He's probably been known to make remarks like this about Sarah Palins baby.
He's immature and insecure and shouldn't be the LEADER of the great nation of America.
He's always worried about how much and how many people like him like all insecure people. He thinks he's steeping out to us by going on a comedy show when we are at the most important crossroads of our history. Well I have news for him.....
He shows his true colors when he talks about bills that he put the final signature on in a bad light...
That and the praise of Tim Geithner was absolutely pathetic. The rest of Jays important questions weren't even answered. He's an expert at saying a bunch of nothing about something that's extremely important to America.
Now I feel he's just made a joke of all of us and gave us all the finger wile pretending to itch his nose...

Hard to believe isn't it? The crowds laughed and loved it. Search it out on Youtube, see for yourself. I can't copy and past yet or I'd post the links for you. They aren't hard to find.

While I agree that what he said was wrong, it was all in all a slip of the tounge, something I am sure everyone has done at some point in time in there life, why people expect perfect from the President is beyound me, because after all he is only human to just like everyone else, and before anyone says that I don't understand because I haven't dealt with someone who is special needs I have, my son was born severly disabled and I don't think that a misuse of words or a slip of the tounge is something to hold against someone, especially when he was talking about his poor bowling skills.

I agree that what he said was wrong, but he made an honest mistake. If a normal person would've said that everyone would've ignored it.But since he's the President it's like he said the world's going to end tonight.
Everyone makes mistakes. You're not immune when you're president either.I've heard a lot of people make comments about mentally challenged for the sake of humor, but no one's every took it like they are now.I think if they're coming down on the president so hard, everyone else needs to get it too.

I do not like Obama and never will but I will defend his right to free speech! He didn't really say anything awful or horrible, just that he bowls like those of the Special Olympics, and what's wrong with that? They are different, and they are known for not having the same abilities as (normal) people, so what! God, why is everybody so quick to cut a person down when they make small little remarks like that? Do we now have to be terrified every time we open our mouths, so afraid we will offend SOMEONE out there in our daily conversations? Do we have to watch and weigh every little word we speak? Is this still America? or Russia? OHOOOOOO, I better run and hide because I implied Russia doesn't have free speech! I should be hung! I should be horse whipped! I should be run out of town!!!!!

Where was his teleprompter?! I didn't see the show or hear the comment but I've heard about it here and there and I just read it. There were so many other things he could have said!
I wouldn't be surprised if he went on Comedy Central. He's still in campaign mode and I'll bet he will be for quite some time--he's battling to keep his popularity and keep the media busy so they won't cover all the protests and demonstrations that are happening all over the country in response to all the hope and change we've gotten so far.

Looks like he forgot to bring his teleprompter. Funny thing is, any other person saying that on Leno would have been ripped apart afterwards but with Obama it took a while even for the media to just simply mention it. Mostly they immediately wrapped it with the apology was made before the whole thing aired. Actually, the latter is called damage control. Lets face it, this was an off handed remark and shows how he normally talks. The remark flowed freely and seemed to be an expression he regularly uses in a private conversation.
If this would have been Bush, or somebody else, the comedians would be all over it, but Obama is beyond reproach. Yep, he is human, and prone to mistakes and to use of language that is not politically correct. Problem is, he is the president and representing us, and he was on public television. A situation where he should have watched what he said and didn't. He showed his true nature. Period.

Yeah, unfortunately he made the comment about the special olimpics but in my opinion it was a minor slip up. Sure if your going to say things like this it should be in a private setting or better yet not at all but he 's human we've all said something throuout our lives that others may find offensive. Even though he made the slip up at least we know he's human not strung up on a high horse as we've seen in the past. GOOOOOOOOOO OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm not sure if he did really say anything that wrong i mean he only said really that he cant bowl i mean people are saying coments like that all the time i dont think he ment it to be nasty about mentally challenged people i see it more as tho he was just taking the mick out of himself as we all do, and i dont think she should be striped of his normal human behavour just becouse hes the president, i mean hes only human just like us.
Hes putting all his heart and soul into his country and all people can see is his mistaks, why would he want to be the president if he didnt care about people.
So yeah he maybe shouldnt of said it but i dont think he said to to hurt anyone you might not be able to see it like that becouse your from the usa but im from the uk and maybe think about giving the poor guy a break.
