I still hear folks say that they voted for Obama because they wanted change. No one tells me if they are getting the change they wanted. I think we are getting change, just the wrong kind of change.
We have found an even more arrogant man for president than we had before. He insults disabled Special Olympians on Television for all to hear. He feels that he can say, do, and spend anyway he wants to. He has decided to NOT overturn all the crazy stuff that GWB passed while he was in office.
I think we have both change and more of the same and I think we are in big trouble as a country.

The thing is, he's giving them exactly the change he bragged that he would. He didn't lie to them, but they hoped he was.

Oh he talks nice, that I can say, but he does nothing. He reminds me of those people who would say to a drowning man, "everything is all right, behind every cloud there is a silver lining." Now I was just watching 20/20 (not much on because of this basketball game taking over on CBS and I already watched Fox) and Obama was talking to some students whose parents were poor, were in danger of losing their homes, and he was saying how brave they were and they were taking it all in.
It reminded me of the news movies I saw of former dictators who said nice things to the citizens who were suffering.

What is interesting with this point is that there is not enough time to compare one with the other. We do know this though, when Bush became president for the first time, it appeared that his approval numbers were already low. When Obama took office, it appeared that the world, no matter where you turned, loved him. Yet, to compare this president with that president is probably not a fair thing to do. No one yet has told me that one is better than the other, yet, some have said that they like President Obama because these comments are coming from Democrats.
What is important to note here is this: Give the man a chance. He has four years to either be successful or to be considered a failure. Unfortunately, he has come into office at a real rough time for the United States as well as the world, and he has a lot on his plate. This comment comes from someone who did not vote for him.

As predicted: the 'ol give him a chance thing (see my post above). It is a straw man argument really.
We just printed a trillion dollars yesteday. We have just spent more in 2 months than any nation has in history, even taking in to account the wars that ol Goerge-the constitution is just a piece of paper-Bush didn't figure in to things. We have just had a congress pass a law that blatently directly and openly violated article 1, section 9, line 3 of the constitution, a major cause of the first american revolution and Obama is going to sign it, making him a co conspiritor. We have now a bill that will extend the patriot act (remember that one from good ol G.W?) We have a bill now that will make it impossible for small farms and farmers markest to survive, making it even harder for people to be self sufficiant in economic hard times. We still have a batallion on home soil ready for deployment to perform civil law enforcement. We still have border patrol checkpoints in the middle of states, often 75 miles from any border, stopping citizens in their day to day travels in their own state and country. We have an exposed scam by the federal reserve and the treasury department and congress. We have a 4 time tax cheat as the head of the treasury department. We still have the FISA laws in place from GW (remember those, the wiretapping bush did everyone was so wound up about back then?)
So, how much more time do you think we should give him? We're already running out of constitution to violate.

Oh. almost forgot, he is on board with several U.N. Treaties that directly violate and conflict with both the constitution and our federal laws, as well as many state laws.
Our stets are STILL being blackmailed by the federal governemt in to adopting laws and policies, balckmailed and bribed in to it, WITH OUR OWN MONEY.
again, how much more time do you want to give him?

For an intelligent answer about why I loathe Bush, read:
The Prosecution of George W. Bush by Vincent Bugliosi
As for comparing him to Obama, the jury is still very much out.

I didn't say anything about why anyone loathes Bush, I said to ask them why Obama is better than Bush.
But thanks for playing.

Para, I don't know anyone that has said this. Obama has been president for TWO MONTHS, the country gave Bush 8 years the screw up the country, maybe we should atleast give Obama a YEAR to fix Bush's mess (remember your history Para, it took Clinton 6 years to clean up mess that Bush Sr. and Reagan left the country).

SND, congress didn't approve the bonuses from AIG, the CEO of AIG did. I see that you also forgot the republicans owned the government from 2004 to 2006, but I am sure that all of the spending, and easing regulations that they did during this time couldn't have effect the country. You also have to remember that John McCain, and George W. Bush were warning the country of the housing bubble in 2005 (which caused alot of the problems we have today), so I guess both of these fine republicans were talking about the future under Democratic rule. Not the last two years when they praised each other for their record home ownership. History shows that it takes a democrate to clean up the mess left by a republican. It took Bill 6 years to clean up the last mess, I think Obama might be able to do it in 4 or 5.

If I remember correctly, Bush did quite well speaking "off the cuff", like when he stood on the smoldering rubble at Ground Zero - he was exactly the leader we needed at that moment. I shudder to think how 0bama will handle a similar situation when it arises - and all his actions indicate that another attack is not only possible but probable. Perhaps it is becasue I am a New yorker, that the events from 7 and half years ago are still fresh in my mind, but I find it disgusting how so many seem to have completely forgotten all about it.

Amen! Bush kept us safe for eight years. They forget that. John Kerry lost in 2004 because his Swift Boat went the other way. John McCain lost in '08 because this was all a set up anyway. Anything is better than George Bush? Huh. Let's see. President Obama is still campaigning, forgetting that he is president and has lots of work to do. If this was school and he was a student, he would get, along with his Press Secretary, Robert "UM" Gibbs - wonder who writes his stuff? Um, who cares. He would get a F-, is that a grade?
This is the most apologetic administration that I have ever seen. Oh, I am sorry. Oops, did it again. Spending more of our money. Oops, I'm sorry.

that would in fact be his saving grace in my eyes if he were not continuing and expanding a lot of what Bush did. But when I vote, I don't vote for "not the candidate". I don't vote for the lesser of two evils, it is an illusion and a moral compramise. If Stalin had ran, would you have voted for him because he "wasn't bush"? I have a stinging distain for Bush. But if I recall, bush didn't run, so ANYONE who ran was "not Bush". I supported a candidate I felt would best adhere to the constitution and the principals the country was founded on.
