I could not find an exact number of books to answer your question but to help you in your search I wanted to post and make sure you were aware that Stephen King used a pseudonym, Richard Bachman, back in the late 1970's - early 1980's. He also published other books besides novels, help-books and the like. You could try Wikipedia, they have lists of his books but to get a count of them it depends which genre books of his you were looking for. So just try going to Wikipedia.org and do a search for Stephen King. Hope this helps, good luck in your search!

i think he wrote at least 50 books...i am not sure how many exactly. he wrote a lot of short stories and some of them have individual novels and some are compiled into one book.

I have over 70 of Stephen Kings books,including his series of short stories and his first published under Richard Bachman....he also published a comic book series called Creepshow

I counted over 70 books wrote by him. You can go to about.com and type in books Stephen king wrote and it will give you a list. It will also give you a list of all the movies he has helped write. Their are quite a few movies too.
