Ok for all you story people out here in mylot land I want to start something! Below you will find the first paragraph of a story what you do is add the next paragraph in your comments. Some rules here... (sorry but it is only a few)
1. Dont respond to someone elses story, not for any reason other than readability, if there are a bunch of offset pieces I am afraid it will be unreadable.
2. Post to the story as often as you like as long as there is one post in between.
3. Take the story anywhere the mylot terms of service allow, funny, scary, absurd,serious... whatever you like.
She stared out of the dusty window, watching the silent movie that was the world outside. The smell of old enveloped her, boxes of papers and long forgotten memories were stacked haphazardly all around. Numbly she sank to the bare wooden floor, staring but not really seeing. Dust motes puffed around her and danced in the lone beam of cold winter sun..........
Your turn!

at that point she gripped her grandfathers handwritten will even tighter. After a few moments she loosened her grasp and read it again. Paragraph 6: To my beloved Anna, I leave the sum of $100,000 so she can realize her dream of traveling the world, she always wanted to and would tell me about the places she would visit as she sat on my lap." Anna, felt a tear well up in her eye, she couldn't cry though, she was angry, angry that this particular piece of parchment was never read at his request. She thought about the people who stole that money and used it for their own personal gain, she vowed to make them pay. She wasn't too old to travel, as a matter of fact, she'd be booking a flight to New York that very night. She'd travel allright and see sights that she never dreamed of...

Yet, even as she made this resolve she had to swallow a sharp pang of regret. Regret mixed with guilt at what she had done and despite her self-chiding at the futility of these negative emotions, she could not entirely dismiss them.
Beginning the task of sorting through these old papers was a blessed relief, focusing her mind on the task kept darker thoughts at bay and it was not easy task; the papers were stacked haphazardly, lacking any kind of order. Yet, find this needle in a haystack she must.

She heard the rails begin to hiss moments before she heard the train. It was a slow train ambling across the flat land to connect with the old LMS line that ran down to London. Her head dropped back onto the head rest and she sat starring at the ceiling, the rhythmical movement of the train was somehow soothing.
There was but a short wait for the connecting train and soon she was heading south Before too long the train entered the beautiful Chiltern hills and she was soon pulled into Tring station. Situated a little way outside the town it was a walk of no more than 2 miles which she took at a stride, arriving slightly out of breath.
She turned onto the undulating High Street and strode more steadily to the town centre, where she followed Frogmore Street down and back up before turning off towards her home, she knew she must hurry if she were still to catch her flight that night.

but all was not lost, somehow she had to recapture the bright glimmer of life that once shown brightly in her world. How did this happen? How had she sank into such a dismal existence? It was there somewhere and all she had to do was find it, the bright sunny dawn of the future. She slowly pulled herself to her feet, clutching the grimy wooden table. "I will survive" she vowed.
