Actually fat itself cannot be stored as fat. I would need to be broken down by the body and then turned into fat which just doesn't happen. The fat can stay in the body though (not as fat cells but as the fat that it is) and cause problems like heart disease.
It is kinda the theory behind the Atkins Diet.
Thanks

I have heard that peanuts are very fattening. they are a form of meat. If you eat too many, then it would possibly make you gain weight.

Hi bombshell, here we are two of a kind I love green olives and roasted peanuts, yet they can be really fattening if eaten too often and too many of them in one sitting!! And thats even though they are good for you...littleowl

hi bombshell if you eat a ton of them yes, but in moderation they are good for you as they have good fat and protein too. so just dont overdo it. a handful is good for you a cupful could be adding fat. so just be moderate. he he he.

i donot think peanuts makes one fat.it does contain fat but good fat which protects against heart disease.also it is known to prevent various cancers like colo cancer as it has variety of antioxidants and some acids like oleic acid which is good for heart also.

I don't think it is a good idea to snack at midnight before going to sleep it is better to have something decent at around 7/8pm instead of midnight snacks. If you had to snack peanuts do fatten you up. But you seem thin so there is not harm in putting a certain amount of fat.

Peanuts aren't exactly the most healthy of all the nuts, but it ultimately comes down to what form the peanuts come in. The best ones to eat health wise are raw peanuts. Salted peanuts for example aren't good to eat in large quantities and you probably will find yourself gaining weight if you were to eat a heap of them on a regular basis. Not to mention the salt being bad for you as well! Most nuts contain essential fats, so can be quite good for you in small quantities. As with everything though, it all comes down to eating them in moderation.

I am probably allergic to nuts, maybe some types not all
I like them though and I keep snacking them hahaha
I cough a lot if I eat too much, someone said it's not just dry throat (because I DO drink water) but I never actually look it up to find out if it's really allergy

Even though peanuts are high in oil, they are also high in protein and are actually quite healthy. I make boiled peanuts where I remove most of the oil. They're very flavourful and very good. There are a lot of other snacks that would be much worse for your figure.

I love peanuts! I could eat a whole bunch of it for a day. Hmmm..as far as I've heard, oil is the cause of peanuts making us fat. I also don't recommend to eat too much especially the salty ones. Some say that its dangerous to eat too much salt. I forgot what they called it...XD

the oil of peanuts makes people fat. that is what i know. that is why my wife only eat paenuts when it is boiled. sometimes we eat peanut butter but we only buy small bottles so it is easy to consume. my wife does not want my hands on peanut butter for as i always say even before our family has line of heart attacks and diabetes. prevention is better than cure.

Well it depends what type of peanuts you are eating, like are they highly salted ones or just plain roasted ones. peanuts contain protiens in them so at time they make you healthier also, but if they contain a very high content of salt or oil then you tend to grow fat due to it. so be carefull when you choose the type of it to eat.
