Everyone has their own opinion, what's yours?
Mine is Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I just remember playing it as a kid, and it is great. The graphics are pretty good for their era, the plot, the dialog, and everything is spectacular. I've beaten it 3 or 4 times, and it just never gets old. Plus it has all those puzzles that take some serious thinking skills.

For me, it would be Chrono Cross (RPG) for the PS1. Probably because that one of the few games i managed to finish. Lol! But seriously, when i was playing that game waaay back, i just got sucked on into it. If thats not a characteristic of a good game, i dont know what is. The story for me is awesome and as i said, it blew my mind when i was a kid.
Other games came to mind like Halo 2(got me back to gaming again), Ehrgeiz(i dunno why, but i love this game), Castlevania.

I've heard that Chrono Cross is amazing.
I'm sorry, but I have to disagree on Halo 2. The online play sucked (and continues to suck) something fierce. Halo 1, maybe, but not Halo 2. Halo 3 was even better.
I've also heard Castlevania is amazing, but haven't played it.

I didn't say Halo sucked I said Halo *2* sucked. I mean, the campaign wasn't that amazing offline, and online, there's terrible connections which produce "connections host", modding, bridging, dumb gametypes....it's just not so great.
To be honest, I like Halo 1 more than Halo 2. It may have barely any weapons and no online play, but what it *did* have was amazing.

My favorite game is Pac Man. I love eating the dots and the ghosts.
My other favorite is animal wars because you have a war between different animals.
I also enjoy playing the games at yahoogames.com they are fun. My son taught me to play one called hot dog bush and I am addicted to that one. I could play it for a long time.

Those are good games, but the question is "The GREATEST game", not favorite. I have some games that I LOOOOVE (Like "Goof Troop" for the SNES) that may be my favorite, but I know that it's not anywhere near the best.

Final Fantasy VII is the best game for me so far. It's very engaging and the storyline is a masterpiece. Also, it's difficult and challenging if you don't have a walkthrough or a cheat for the game. Overall, I would have to say that it is the best game for me so far.

Thank you! i was scrolling through the other responses thinking "what? no love for FF7?" in my opnion, FF7 is the greatest because it had one of the best storylines, battle systems, side quests, characters, movies (in the game and FF7 advent children) bosses, magic systems, and overall awesomeness! granted, not a whole lot of action, but thats what we have first person shooters for. as an overall game, FF7 is, indeed, a masterpiece.

well it depend with the genre, free style one is GTA of course, you can feel the freedom of being without rules. Stealing car, killing people haha.
And for the best story and battle system such the RPG i have Final Fantasy in my heart. The Japanese guys really working with it seriously and never let the fans down, all with fresh system, music and interesting story.
Graphic is getting better, but the computer is a bit hard to follow the technology, so now it depend with the genre and your favourite

That's great......care to expound?
I never played any of the GTA games, but I have played CS. And I assume you mean CS, not CS Source. And I have to say, for the original CS, it's a really limited game, I mean, there's no campaign, few weapons, levels, etc. I mean, basically, you can't earn anything, or change ANYthing in the game from when you buy it, so it may be good, but it's just....limited.

In my opinion, Tomb Raider 2 was the best game of all time for me. I remember playing it a lot when I was a kid and it was a lot of fun. Kind of like being Indiana Jones, but as a girl! :)

Do you guys know Mount and Blade? Its a single rpg game. You are a leader of some sort. You hire your men, train them, and eventually fight other leaders. The catch here is that its not like a strategy based game like Age of Empire. Its a third/first person game like GTA series. Are you getting me?? You can fight with your hired "comrades". Its a medieval game so expect swords clashing action. I have played it for bout 3 months how and i never get bored with it.
