I just ordered and received my laptop. I got it all hooked up and set up my wireless and discovered that the connection isn't working. It doesn't work anywhere so I know it isn't the router or modem. I just can't figure out what the problem is.
The connection connects but then disconnects after about five minutes and it takes four tries to reconnect again and it gets really annoying. Any ideas?

Well, I just got a new laptop a few weeks ago too. I was having the same problems, and figured out it was my drivers. Usually they ship a Drivers Disc with the laptop. If not, go online and search for the wireless driver for your laptop. It should be somewhere on the manufacturers website.

Believe it or not - about 4 hours before you posted I found the drivers for my laptop. I figured out that I needed a driver but then it was a pain to find out what the model number was because it wasn't on the sticker where it was supposed to be and it didn't say in the System Properties. So it's running really well now, thanks.

If you dont know about the model or any other details. Try this.
StartRundxdiag
you can get a window, there you can get the full details of your laptop.
Then why dont you check the system properties, whether the wan is enabled or not.
If you have any queries , respond.

Hey,
I don't really know why your laptop would be having wireless problems, sorry about this. Hopefully someone else will be able to answer your question better than I have done, in a really good way so you can actually benefit from it. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

It may be because of your system software loaded in your laptop.Load using the recovery cd given by the manifacturer.Check the connectin with another laptop if the same is happening it is the problem with your wireless router.

The laptop is brand new so none of the software has changed and doing a recovery CD would not do anything to it. And I know that it is not the router because it is happen everywhere else I go as well.

what brand is your computer and what is the model number. we'll check if there is an update. sometimes drivers on a new computer needs to be reinstalled in order for it to be refreshed. also try to connect directly on the cable. and check if you'll still be disconnected.

A friend and I already tried looking for an update but we can't find the model number anywhere. The spot on the sticker that is supposed to have it is completely blank.
