I have AVG all in one. It has a firewall and a antivirus and spyware. I scan a least once a week. Most of the time it catches anything before it has a chance to install anything.

I am regularly scanning for spy wares twice in a day and I have installed the Spyware Terminator for this. When ever I am scanning I used to get one threat "Affiliate tracking cookie" and it enters the computer within few minute browsing of internet. When I searched about this cookie, I found this is the cookie send bu the companies to know about the websites we are visiting, for the purpose of market research but it is not harmful that much also can not be allowed. Also, this software is capable of restoring our system to the earlier state, if it is infected by the virus and also it can not be removed. I find this software very useful

I have MacFee which automatically checks the most vunerable parts of my system. I run a full scan at least once a week to be sure I havn't gotten any unwanted gunk. I have it on auto updates so it keeps up with the latest virus threats. It has website adviser built in so I know weather a site has potentially dangerous links. BTW mylot is rated yellow because of all the adds.
