is it better to be alone but happy that with somebody who does nothing while you;re doing everything?

Because I have done too much already for someone that the only next possible thing to do is to leave him alone. My ex dumped me because of his addiction in playing online game..He even cheated on me.. While I'm busy doing things for him.. Sharing my allowance, feeding him, buying things for him, teaching him some stuffs.. HE does nothing.. but play that stupid game.. long story short... ;)

let me re-phrase my question... is it better to be alone but happy THAN with somebody who does nothing while you're doing everything??

I have come to a point in my life where I have decided that being happy is really important. What else is life about? So I would rather be alone than with someone that I was very unhappy with.
