Hello lotters!
I want to share my experience about watching TV at Sunday. When I was a child, I like to watch TV especially at Sunday morning till afternoon. It was because there are lot's of children programs there like cartoons and so on. It was because from Monday-Saturday, I have a full day school. So, I will take a rest while I reach my home. Sunday is the only day I can watch my favorite cartoon and luckily my mom allowed me.
But, after 12, I must switch off the TV or else, my mom will angry T_T. So, I do not have choice. Sometime, my mom asked me to cook, or to have a picnic :D. I was very happy at Sunday hoho. I miss that time very much now :P
How about you? Will you allow your children watching TV all day long?

The outdoor games are alwaya best for children. I feel watching t just spoils the health. If they watch some quiz programs its ok. but we are mostly getting useless scenes in tv.

Sunday is the day when we do things as a family most. Sometimes, we will go to the park, other times, we wil watch movies. So, my kids don't necessarily get to watch t.v. all day on Sunday, I would say that if on a Sunday, they watch television for 4 or 5 hours, that that was in exces of normal. Now, during the week, t.v. doesn't even get turned on unless homework is all done and they have picked up their things. Most days, during the week, they don't watch t.v. at all. I think that a kid needs to use there imagination more so than watch t.v.

I cannot allow my child to watch television for whole day on sunay even , if ever i had children though. just because i dont want to addict him to this or any such changes he might get attched to. i will put him to do some material things instead like going for swimming, skating or singing or music classes that day rather than doing some useless things, and let him watch children cartoons which are not influential at all. i dont want my child to mess up till some extent.

well, i'm not allow my boy watching TV so long time, although he's unhappy of that. I'm afraid of his eyesight actually, i prefer that he can play outdoors more than watching.

I don't have kids, but if I were to acquire some there would be very little TV watching done by anyone for the simple reason that there's no TV to watch. We don't have cable and pretty much never watch the broadcast channels. For the hour or so of programming we watch every month, there's TiVo. Everything good or interesting on TV these days can also be found on the internet or on DVD, so what's the point?
Most kids under the age of eight can have a more interesting time with crayons and a cardboard box, anyway, and once they're too old to be interested in that they're just the right age to take to museums and libraries and things.

During the week, my children get 1 hour of tv, and 1 movie at bedtime. Then on Friday and Saturday nights, they get to have 3 movies before bed, Saturday and Sunday daytime they get to watch tv for 3 hours. Because I feel that they deserve to be rewarded for being so good at school and such during the week. But, if they don't go to bed on time for me during the week, or are naughty, they get their weekend tv time taken away little by little. So, really, its completely up to them and their behavior.

My kids are allowed to watch as much tv as they want. I have never restricted them in that and I was never restricted from watching tv either as a child. From the moment I get up until they go to bed of an evening the cartoon channels are on for them if they want to watch it. Once the weather gets warmer then they will be out in the garden all day but during the colder weather they like to hibernate.

My kids usually watch at least an hour a day. Sometimes during the week they get a movie at bedtime so its obviously longer than an hour. On Saturday mornings they usually get up around 8am and watch cartoons while eating breakfast and relazing from their long school week. Sunday it depends on what else is going on, if we are going somewhere, the weather outside, who else is outside playing, what kind of mood they are in, etc. On weekends I usually dont limit their tv time too much.

I do not have children yet but when I do, I will not allow them to watch TV all day long. It's not good for them. Plus, are there really any shows out there anymore that they need to watch THAT much of? My fiancee and I were just talking this morning about Saturday morning cartoons. What happened to them? Along with other, good "weekend" shows? Now a days it's all crappy infomercials and crappy shows noone wants to watch. We put our own cartoon dvds in and have our own "Saturday morning cartoons."

I personally allow my son to watch a lot of TV, but it's more than I would like him to watch. There are so many more activities out there for kids to do, other than watch TV. Sometimes I let him watch so much because I am so tired (I'm pregnant right now so I am tired a lot!) Whenever I can though, I look for other things to do, like playing with his toys or a fun art project or something. I think that if you want to watch that much TV, but you aren't allowed, you could look for other hobbies to do that would help you to relax the same way TV does. You could read a book, start crafting or find something else you like to do.
