US President Obama's call to Iran for direct talk to mitigate differences is a good gesture. It proves his wise statesmanship.Iran can be a good friend of US rather than
Pakistan.Pakistan now is the center of terrorism. It's government is also dependendent on military command.Democrecy in Pakistan is very shaky. On the other hand Iran is an old civilized nation. It's government's base is very strong.Iran is ruled by the Islamic law. They don't try to impose it on other nation.Iran is not a terrorist country. If President Obama can make Iran a friend in the middle east I think it will be good for America and as well as for the whole world.

I'm afraid you are just delusional. Iran has insulted Obama repeatedly despite his overtures. They have been nothing but rude and demeaning towards our nation and demanded he apologize for things that happened before he or Ahmadinijead were born. They call us bullies yet they have no problem calling Israel a stinking corpse. Until the Iranians elect a leader who is willing to move on, we can never have any diplomacy between our nations.
Right now, Iran will accept nothing less than Obama prostrating himself before them, calling his own country an evil empire of heathens, apologizing for anything and everything that has upset anyone in Iran over the last 60 years, and cutting off all ties with Israel. I'm not a fan of Obama, but even he wouldn't be so foolish to do half the things they expect from us.
Pakistan has many problems internally, but their leadership has shown a clear willingness to work with us. Musharaff was a key ally in the war in Afghanistan and Zardari has shown an interest with continued relations with the US. So far, I have not seen a single government official of any kind in Iran show ANY interest in a peaceful cooperative relationship with the US despite Obama's bending over backwards to be their friend.

I agree Pakistan need to get their acts together and corporate with the USA. If they dont they are going to make it more tougher on their nation. I really admire the president for extending his hand to the Islamic nations despite of major differences in their policies.

He is in a very difficult position at the moment. It is a wait and watch situation, where Iran has to now take two steps forward. Inspite of all the negative things Iran has said to the President, we just hope things will work for a better tomorrow.
