Most of the time when i go for shopping or for any purpose in the market i see quantity of female section is more than male .
and most shops are also based on gals interest like suits, jwellery, shoes, makeup accessories etc.
i guess in most cases male have to pay but gals get money either from parents or husband or boyfriend. even a girl is earning money then also she doesn't know how to save .
what do you think about it and why it is so?

it's just because guys earn 4 d girls to spend...
so anyhow their shopping is done through girls..
the prime concern with guys is that they want their girls to be happy..
so as the girls are happy..
the major part of guys program is over..
And who told you that girls doesn't save money..
they save their money and spend their parent's/boyfriend's/hubby's money..
they are pretty smart now a days..

us men have one philosophy which has guided us from the days shopping malls were invented- get in and get out! i guess it stems from our childhood experiences. as a kid i would be dragged to shopping with my mother or sisters, who wud then spend an eternity shop hopping. as kids we all are restless and with all this pent up energy. but we are forced to stick along and stay put while the shopping gets done ( or doesnt get done, as was the case with my mother n sisters!). so i for one have resented the word shopping from then and there. i guess its the same with most indian men. once older, us men see shopping for what it is, or what it should be- going to buy something, buying it and leaving. women i guess see it more of as an outing, socialising thingie.

I think men and women both like to shop .I'm speaking more from my own personal experiences with men and women I currently know. Like for example, my brother, even though he can not afford to shop all the time, he's always going out shopping and if he doesn't have the money he just window shops. He's musician and he love's to visit all the local music stores and pawn shops to see the latest guitars in the stores and he loves to dvd & shop for video games also. My husband goes out and shops more then me sometimes, he love's to visit video game stores and like's to shop for dvd's ,he even likes to go out and shop for clothing for himself or for our son sometimes.I like to shop also but I don't shop as often as my husband because I watch & save our money,I'm bit more frugal then my husband..LOL.. He likes to spend!

I think it depends on what you are shopping for and where you are shopping. I like to shop for some things but I can't say that I always enjoy shopping.
My husband likes buying sports cards and video games. I loathe those shopping trips. I hate waiting for him to pick out cards he wants to buy. I also hate waiting for him and the kids to pick out video games.
When I buy a video game, I already know what I am going to buy before I leave the house. I don't need to look at every game in the store before I pick one. Especially since they are the same games that we looked at the last hundred times we went shopping for games.
I think this is how most guys feel when with women who are shopping for clothes and similar things that we women sterotypically love to shop for.

From my experience, it's not so much a case of enjoyment as of method. A guy will go into a shop, pick an item and - assuming it fits the requirement - buy it.
A girl will tend to find an item she likes, but will then continue to shop around, checking all the other stores to be certain that the thing she found is the best one. It makes a lot of sense, if you think about it.
Personally, I've always loved clothes shopping with women (yes, I know I'm not normal!). I figure that it's a pretty cool opportunity to see a gorgeous person in a dozen different outfits. It's like having your own fashion catwalk, right there in front of you. And you don't even have to buy a ticket to watch.

Hahaha, I agree entirely.
Yeah, for most guys it's "Get in, these fit, buy them, get out."
At least, it is for me.

girls like to look good, their fashion demands are higher. they like to stay ahead of things and hence like to shop for stuff that will help them look better. it is a girl thing. call it vanity if you wish. other times, shopping has a feel-good factor attached to it.
as for men, i've seen them more at sports shops, music stores, electronics, phone and game stores. at these places, the number of men outnumber women :)

the thing is that girls are more fashion/ looks conscious.. they want to be best dressed in the latest fashion clothes.. and that is the reason you will always find them shopping..!! lol..!!

Your post assumes that every woman has a man in their life to supply them with money to go and shop til they drop. As an independent woman, I can say that this is not the case at all. I think it's an individual case by case basis. Put a some guys in an electronics store, or go to an auto show and you can lose them forever. Shopping for me is a chore. I will spend extra time doing it to make sure I get what I want and that I don't spend too much, or atleast more than I should have to.

In my opinion, it is simplay because that girls love beauty more than boys. It seems that girls always lack something like clothes, cosmetics, jewllery, etc. What's more, they are very particular with the products. They never get tired when shopping. It is a kind of enjoyable stuff for women only to look at or try the products. They will spend much time considering and trying so many similar products before deciding to buy a specific one.

truthfully i think guys have a fixated thought on what they want to buy so when they see something they like, they go buy it and that's it, in some occasions even if my mom and me don't like what they bought they still buy it lol it's like they get decide on what they buy, i have seen this happening with my dad and brother haha, and girls like to browse around try on different things, colors and sizes. And then browse again to see if they might find another item that will seem better. You can't blame the girls we just want to try different things at a time XD

You've got some really good responses here, and I tend to agree with a lot of them. I think guys are a see-it-buy-it kind of person. They know what they want and when they see it they get it. A girl sees what she likes, but then wants to look at all the other stuff and also compare prices.. and then if she finds a sale she can justify buying what she wanted plus the sale item too... she does tend to spend more I think, because she is interested in shopping around more.

I like shopping because I are about my appearance and I want to make myself pretty. It doesn't mean that I don't want to save money. Most time I go shopping with my friends just only wathing instead of buying.Inspect of something I really like.
In my opion, boys don't like shopping because they don't care their appearance so much as girls. And they are bored in shopping.

I think guys are mostly smarter about shopping than girls are! Girls will go around looking at everything and end up buying a lot more useless junk than what they originally came to the store to get. On the other side guys normally just go get what they came for and then leave. Girls like to stay around and boys like to leave after they get what they came for. Therefore the reason most places display more female products is because of the general idea that females like to look around at all the stuff more often than guys do.

this is something that can't be explained with women in general..it's part of their human nature to love shopping...girls just love to check on what's in fashionwise..and always they drool on anything latest or nice and even branded like those signature bags and shoes and jeans...most girls es[ecially if they have oney to burn really shop till they drop..this is a fact!..too bad the economy now is bad but somehow i know of girls who still manage to shop for anything....it's kinda psychological too...sometimes when my lady friend gets deppressed..she really makes it a point to buy something for herself or just to shop....

There is a foundamental difference between girls and boys about shopping. Girls love to go shopping, to look around, to compare different clothes in different shops. Girls love to spend time just looking thing that they will never buy, they consider shopping like an amusement. Boys like to buy. Boys like to go in a shop where they know what they will find and what they will buy. This is the difference. In my opinion boys don't like to go around just watching stuff but the wanna buy.
