Stem Cell research good or bad

I am very interested in anyone's opinion on stem cell research. Do you agree with the use of stem cells to do the research, the use of stem cells if they can cure someone or the use of stem cells if it could be used to cure yourself or a family member.

Any research that can help millions and cure debilitating diseases has to be of use to humanity, but at what expense? If the only way to get stem cells is from fetuses then I am never going to be ok with growing them strictly for this purpose. I seem to remember more than one kind being mentioned but of there is another source then it shouldn't be such a problem.
