I guess everyone is busy.

I have been logged into mylot for the last 4 hours and I have posted only one discussion but I have responded to about 40 other discussions and I can't believe I haven't recieved at least one comment. Is nobody here or are you just busy posting your own discussions and responses that you don;t have the time to comment on your own discussions. You know, people, we do get paid for comments and it is a good thing to keep your own discussions going. Or why else start them and not communicate with the people who have the good intentions of responding to them. Or is everyone not here and busy elsewhere. Am I being too picky in wishing people would acknowledge me and get a discussion going. Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend, Have a good mylotting day, Chris

I am a new member here and only just signed up today. I am going through all your discussions because you are the only person here that I know and I have to go through the site to learn more and make more new friends. So till then I will respond to your discussions. I notice that you have many discussions that have a few responses and that you almost always comment to the responses. But not always so I am assuming that you don't always have something more to add. I have read the guidelines and it says not to comment just to say thanks and so if there isn't more to say then I guess that is why they don't comment. But I have already noticed that some people only post discussions and never comment on the responses. I looked at one of your friends links to see if I wanted to add her, many others as well, but she only had discussions started without any comments at all and most of her discussions didn't even have a single response to them because they were just links to news items. I don't think I want to participate that way so I may not start many discussions but I will respond to others and I will add comments when I can. Happy mylotting my new friend, littlemissy here

Good luck with your mylotting. It's nice to see some new people here. I love the site and if you give it the time I think you will love the site too. It is a really good place to be when you are lonely. It almost feels like talking to real people.

Thanks, I already like the site and I am going to give it some time to see if I can fall in love with the site the way so many people here talk.

Hi buddy. I do feel you there. When I check my inbox and I don't see any comments to the discussions I have answered, I feel that the discussion certainly has no purpose. But I do give a bit of 'face' to those whom are really busy and not making any newer discussions. But what really bugs me are those that do not make it a point to comment back and you can basically see their style of doing things here. And especially when they keep on making newer discussions but not responding to those old ones. Have a nice day, man..

And I do try to comment when I can, like with this discussion, but not always because sometimes there just isn't more to say. It is nice to see you are back and active again. I know I can always count on you to respond to my discussions, even though I don't start very many.

I feel you there buddy and thanks. I'd say it's pretty much 'it's the thought that counts'. No worries, I'm sure we'll be fine. Aite, don't think of my last words, I'm rambling. LOL.

After you mentioned it, I just notice that today is a bit weird, as in weekdays I would have received some comments back to me and would have knewn that someone was happy with my answer, vice versa. You are right, it makes more funs if we can communicate in a way we do sure each other know each others' thoughts/thinkings.

Sorry I took so long to get back to you. I do read all my responses and try to say something back so they know I read it, and I did do most of the ones from this discussion but somehow I missed yours and the next ont after yours. When we comment to the responses we get to our discussions, we are carrying on a conversation, so named a discussion.

being sunday, i was out shopping for household stuff most of the day. I did keep peeping in every now and again to check the new discussions but had no time to particupate. Now I'm at it!

Some days all I do is read and read and don;t end up participating much. Some days I can't seem to get into typing anything and just want to read what others have to say.

Like I said before, the topic is the problem. Where is your discussion? I look forward to posting on it. There are many to stimulate someone to post on, some can be really controversial, like every person's stand on homosexuality, their opinion of the terrorists and what we should do with them, of the closing of Guantanamo Bay, of the mother of the octuplets.... Each can start some hot debates. For excitement, a heated discussion would do the trick, but it can be like staying on a bucking bronco. Some people might start putting expletives in their postings, which is immature, unintelligent and animalistic. Why not just start putting growling noises in your comments? Why not just start thumping your chest? You get my drift. Let me know where your discussion was posted, and I will be there with bells on, chrislotz!

Seems to me that no one has understood my point with this discussion. I was not looking for responses to my other discussion. I was looking for comments on the responses I made on other people's discussions. I like to banter back and forth, as that is what a discussion is. So if no one comments on the response that I have posted to their discussion I don't even know if they read it.

It is good to give your comments to responders as it is a form of thanking a person for her time taken to response to our discussions. I do give out my comments to all my responders but it will not be too fast as I have to come to each and everyone's response and if I have two or three discussions that hit the roof then I may take sometime to reach to everyone. But rest I assured you get my personal touch.

And it is an acknowledgement that they even bothered to read it as I am sure many don't. I read all my responses I get to my discussions and I try to comment on all of them but some of them I have no more to add but the majority of them I say something, as you can see from all the responses I got to this discussion.

Weekends are down time away from Mylot for a lot of the members. As for me, I am updating my spouse's resume so he can get a better paying job. And, I'm battling constant chronic hand pain that may be tendonitis or carpal tunnel. Fingers crossed it's just swelling. Have a lovely day Mylotting. See you all back online Monday!

I am now getting more responses to some of my discussions so I can see that people are here afterall. I guess it just takes some time for people to respond. Maybe most of my friends are starting discussions and not responding to any, today. But now that it is later in the evening I am getting some.

If you only have posted one discussion then chances are it is buried already in pages behind the main page. We all know that there's a huge population already here and almost all are trying to make discussions after the other. So the possibility is that, yours are buried already and if everyone don't have much time to dig to other pages then that could be the reason. There are others as what you have said already.

It wouldn't matter how far down my discussion gets if my friends had their notification buttons turned on they would get it in their email box. That is how I get all of their discussions.

It seems that a lot of people are outside these days and not as active in mylot. That is good. I notice that most of the responses I am receiving are in the evenings. I guess people come in after it starts to get dark out and then work on the computer.

Hi chrislotz! I apologize for not responding to your previous discussion earlier. It was a beautiful day here and after being all cooped up for what seems like forever and a day...I hit the road today. I went to a huge indoor flea market and cruised the tourist city here..Gatlinburg. I went out to eat and then took my girls to the Nascar Speedpark and let them ride go-carts.lol..they are so funny on them. The traffic was terrible but on a day like this I expected it to be..it most always is. Talk to you later.

That is okay. If the weather was nicer here I would probably do the same and go outside and enjoy it. But since it is snowing, lots, I don;t think I'll be going outside till I have to.

Depending on who you are, or where you are, that could be the opposite. I live in the rurals in the US, and there is not much to do out of the house. I am a bit of a shut-in anyway, so this is my entertainment. It's just a matter of being patient, and creative. Maybe even look for other similar discussions, and refer to your posted discussion. You'd be surprised the responses you get.

I don't know the reason for that, am not able to see much discussions and this is for the past 36 hours. As this is week end , I think all are busy in their own work.Or otherwise, they might have lost their interest in participation of discussions.. Still I am searching for new discussions am not able to find much. Also I did not receive even a single response for my discussion. What happened to our friends?

Thank you for the response my friend. I will check out your profile and see if you have any discussions I can respond to. You aren't on my friends list so I don't get your discussions in my email box and I only respond to those since I have about 200 coming in every day and I am about 6 months behind in them so I have over 10,000 to deal with. But I will make the time to check out your profile since you took the time to respond to me.

It's best to do both. Try thinking of some really tough issues, and see what happens when others post on it. My discussion I started Saturday concerned the question "Who do You pray to?" A friend of mine is Catholic, and saw a short video at Mass about a survey among, not just Catholics, but Catholics in Rome! What did they say? Mary was #2, Our Lady of Guadalupe was #3, and who was #6? Jesus! The Son of God was #6!!! Where are our priorities if the Son of God, the King of God's Kingdom, our Savior, is #6 in a global center or worship? I got some good responses. Maybe you want to phrase a question that SOUNDS insulting, like whether men can cook, whether women can drive, just to get a response. The responses you get could start some excitement, as others respond to some inflammatory respones. Just try it.

I'm here, but I haven't seen you around.. well.. I've not been around that long either.. so.. but I do try to balance things... I talk with others on their discussions, and I just started a discussion that I am monitoring and answering.

What was your posted discussion? I posted my first one this morning, and I have had at least a dozen responses, but I posted a tough question-Who should we pray to? Check it out. I have a good banter going with islander7. I hope he isn't insulted by my comments.

My point in this discussion wasn't about not receiving responses to my discussion but why I don;t get any comments or acknowledgements that someone has read my responses to their discussion they started. I did get a few comments this morning on those responses I was complaining about. I like to keep a discussion going and not just one response and then nothing more to it. To me that isn't a discussion but just a single posting as nothing is being discussed back and forth with anyone.

Exactly, it's nice to be acknowledged but I do understand that sometimes there just isn't any more to add to the discussion and it is against the guidelines to just say thanks. And I wouldn't want any one to break any rules.
