I was just thinking back on how families would get all dressed up in new Easter Outfits to go to church on Easter . Girls would get a new Easter dress, and new pair of white patent leather shoes . I wonder if anyone still buys new Easter Outfits to wear to church on Easter Sunday?

I don't understand what you meant with Easter Sunday Outfits because we don't have that. But I always make sure that I wear dresses during our Sunday Eucharistic Celebrations (Mass), I don't wear dress or outfit there that I do every single day, I treat that day specially. I dress up, wear my special jewelries (not too much), wear light make-up and do as I'd do on my birthday and special celebrations. It blows my mind sometimes that people could go to church wearing outfits like they're going for a stroll in the mall, or even on the beach! Whew. Respect is the key, if you can't respect God, who would respect you?? How'd you feel if you see friends wearing inappropriate dress and you invited them in your wedding? Whew!

Hi laydee, I'm talking about back when I was a kid, like 40 years ago . Some of my friends would get a brand new Easter dress, white patent leather shoes and a matching purse for Easter Sunday . Families would dress up big time to go to church on Easter Sunday . I think on Easter Sunday everyone was so busy looking at what everyone was wearing they didnt pay much attention to the sermon, lol I really just wanted to know how many people still buy the special Easter outfit to wear on Easter Sunday.

Yes, many people still buy and wear Easter outfits on Easter Sunday. I always buy my daughter a cute Easter dress. But I never have enough money to buy myself an Easter outfit. So I just wear one of my nicest dress that is close to an Easter color. I love seeing the little kids in their Easter outfits, they be so cute.

That's a thing of the past for me. Easter Sunday has more meaning to me than a new outfit. I always try to look my best on Sunday's when I go to church, and will wear something that I already have. Easter is another holiday that has become commercialized. On Easter Sunday, the churches are overcrowded with people who have not attended since the last Easter. They come out just to show off their new Easter outfits. When I was a child, my mother would buy us Easter outfits, but we always went to Sunday School, and not only on Easter.

Hi sudalunts, My mother was like that . She stopped going to church on Easter Sunday because she called it a Fashion show . She went to church every other Sunday all her life , but not Easter Sunday because of that . Thanks for responding , Happy Easter !

I still buy a new outfit for Easter Church Service. This year I will be taking my nephew and I already go his new outfit except for his shoes. As fast as his feet grow I'm waiting until the week before Easter before I get them! LOL I remember when we were kids making fun of poor little old ladies and their flowering hats! LOL Now that I don't see anymore Thank Goodnes!
