Do people in your country shake hands when they meet in the street?

I know in most of countries,people will shake hands when they meet in the street,but there must have countries will not do that..In your country,what the man will to do when he meet a moman who he know in the street?Can he take the initiative and shake hands with the woman?

If a man meets another man on the street they will usually shake hands. If a woman and a man meet on the streets they will usually kiss cheek to cheek and if a woman meets another woman on the streets they will usually kiss cheek to cheek.

we often shake our hands to each other when we meet in the street, cause in our chinese tradition, the behavior means saying hello, whether man or woman.
