How many children do you have?

Oh you must be from China. I only have one child. She is three years old now. In my country, anyone can have as many children as they would like. No such one-child policy being imposed yet.

I only have one child, a boy. My government does not tell me I am not allowed anymore children, but I will not be having any more. I never wanted to raise an only child but I was not able to conceive until later in life and now I feel I am too old for more children. I feel for you longing for a child and not being able to have them.

In the USA, a person can have as many children as they want and can. No one can legally force a woman to have fewer children than she wants, with one exception. A parent can force a pregnant minor to have an abortion. The state can remove children from a parent they deem unfit, but they cannot prohibit her from having more children. As a general rule, I do not think that the state should get involved in family planning, but sometimes, I think there should be exceptions. If you are wondering, I believe in sterilization not abortion.

WOW..I am assuming that you live in china? I have heard of that but didnt know if it was true. What do they do if you have more than the allotted amount of children? I have 4 children. Two girls and two boys.

I have 2 daughters. I am so sorry that u cant have another child in your country. That is so sad. I hope that someday you will get your second child like you want.

Can't you in theory have another child but have to pay a hefty fine for that? I have three, two girls, one boy. That's enough, I don't want more. I think it's terrible to restrict the number of children a woman can have. I know it's an overpopulation measure in your country but there are other ways to achieve that goal like access to birth control, proper reproductive and finance education, things like that. Here in the US the average is 2.1 children per family, which of course includes those with no children and those with several children. It's expensive to raise a child. Most people here don't want to raise more than two. I hope that one day your country will give up on restricting the number of children a woman can have. I'm so sorry for you. It's a terrible situation to be in as a woman.
