Yes this is true when i was reading this article about health this title caught my attention, Can it be? Well it seems so!
Article says that there are often more than 500.000 bacteria in the kitchen sink which is 1.000 times more than average toilet has.Although the metal part of the disposal produces ions that can help kill germs, they still love to grow on the crevices in and around the slimy rubber stopper.
That means our disposal can become party central for bacterias, contaminating whatever touches it- dishes, utensils, even our hands. So we better keep it clean , at least once a week, clean the disposal's rubber stopper with a diluted bleach solution- soap and water aren't enough .
I wanted to share this with you , so we better be more careful.
have healthy days!!!!

That really doesn't surprise me. If you think about it, most of us regularly use a disinfecting cleaner for our toilets, and we scrub it really good with a brush. Now, with a disposal, not many people are going to stick their hand down in it and try to scrub it really well. I doubt that many could put their hand down the disposal. My solution is to run hot water in the sink, and add bleach, then turn to disposal on. It probably doesn't get into all the crevices, but I am sure it helps some.

Yes actually i am using a special product to clean my disposal every week, It is in a paper pack like a small envelope , i put it in to disposal and turn on warm water while starting the disposal and work the disposal a minute and it disinfects in few minutes.
And smells clean/
thank you for your answer and have a great day!
