Arguably yes, but when you consider the number of users here and the amount of money in total that's probably being offered through tasks and then equate it all backwards; the increases it would create on posts and discussions would more than likely have been negligible at best or even unnoticed! The tasks hold no interest for me at all, but I do think it's an interesting play by mylot to give others the opportunity to seek more earnings through alternative means on this site. It appears that this is also a case of these tasks being paid for by an external party, so it seems only right that the funds generated should stay within that entity. I don't see how you could keep these tasks and then distribute the money throughout the entire site!

No I don't think the earnings for the discussions should be increased at all. Many users are already getting paid for gargabe just because it escapes the eyes of the staff and never gets deleted.
I think the idea of the tasks is right. It is something different with higher rates and only pays those who do them properly. The rates are, in my opinion, high too. I had three searches accepted and that was really simple to do.
If the rates for the discussion was to increase then there would be even more repeats and waste of space dicussions than there are now

Hi Bala!
This is kind of offshoot from my discussion which echoes almost the same. I feel, tasks are so much different from the true essence of mylotting and I agree totally with you. That would have increased the popularity and the number of users aswell.
However, mylot would not do that just for the fact that they are getting incentives from third parties by hosting the tasks. In a way its more lucrative for them than to just increase the post earnings.

Yes, I agree with you. I've only looked into the tasks twice and neither time did anything take my fancy. Some are quite complicated and time consuming and I feel that my time's better spent in discussion with the people I've come to know and love, rather than wasting my time, solitary, trying to fulfill a complicated task which may or may not be accepted.
Brightest Blessings, my friend.

I agree that this being such an excellent forum it would be desirable if there was more incentive for members to keep posting good discussions. I am not too keen on the tasks, I tried some and I prefer posting and doing what I have always done. I was a little worried at first that a lot of members were going to disappear and concentrate on the tasks because on the first day it was so quiet here! It was a relief to see people coming back into the discussions the next day. Yes I do wish MyLot would put up the pay rate a little.

Everytime they introduce a New thing here in the way they pay us here, it makes it a little harder to earn off of just posting in discussions and such. I work days so have never been able to do any of the Tasks, and such, so it is not helping me as their are never any available. But it would be nice if they could find a better way to encourage more to want to keep active in here posting in Discussions and starting New discussions as in pay, etc. as well.

Hi balasri, I think it is nice that mylot could still find some suitable cooperation partners to earn more money during this recession period. In this way, the members here do have the chance to make more earning by participating in the new review writing. Of course, members here have their right to decide whether they willing to take part in the new stimulus package task or not.
I had tried to write 5 reviews on the easier tasks and four of them were approved with earning awarded. But I couldn’t find any task on my dashboard these couple of days. I look forward to seeing more tasks available on my dashboard.
Happy posting and earning.

It is called a stimulus package isit not Bala/What you are suggesting has different implications say would it not be ,more like an increment or so if the earnings are just increased.
Here it would be a 'win win 'situation for the people who create these tasks I guess. They are giving mylotters more opportunities to earn .That is all.
It is indeed a great idea that the earnings be increased marginally.Earlier , it was slightly more is in't it?But one thing, because this is a very genuine site and we have never had any payment problems so far, I feel that this is good enough as such.

That is exactly what I feel. Instead of diverting to an area of unpredictable task where not everyone is qualified to participate and worse with it's limited task to perform for a large population, mylot should instead increase the payment on their strong area in the discussions and responses as it is where mylot found its popularity.. They need to think about it seriously before confusing many mylotters. It has become a hot topic here of late by members who are unsatisfied, confused and felt left out.

I don't think that is possible... since it is obvious that the tasks are being paid not directly by mylot... but certain individuals or companies who need the information that the tasks can give... but it would certainly be nice if the mylot admin would indeed increase the amount paid for every discussions, responses, and comments made...

Hi bala! You have thought up a most wonderful idea and I do
see that alot of mylotters are in agreement with you, as I am
too only unfortunately I know mylot admin would never be able
to go for it! It would just be too costly for them in the
long run. From what I have noticed lately they seem to be
paying less instead of more! My earnings have seemed to
decrease quite a bit this month and it is quite noticable.
For the same amount of posts I am earning quite a bit
less so I feel that something is definitely amiss here.
Am I the only one who has noticed this? I thought it was
happening last month but I couldn't be sure, but I am now!

I think you may be onto something. The last couple of times I've checked the tasks, there has been nothing listed. I wonder if these things were only temporary, or if there will be new ones coming up. Are tasks going to last or, like the regular stimulus packages, they're just a one-shot deal?

Yes, I buy your argument Bala, raising the earnings for discussions would have been a great idea and it would have been given a flip to the quality discussions. Executing tasks is a different ball game and every one cannot venture out the same. I would stick to discussions due to paucity of time, instead of attempting any tasks.

I agree, bala. Some myLotters have been successful with the tasks. Others have been frustrated because the end result was that their completed task was rejected after being accepted to be done.

Hi bala', this subject I am unsure about, the tasks are a really good idea and there are some every day, but on the other hand the amount we get for the tasks may of been better if we had our earnings raised as we all do more of them...it is a hard one to decide on really for me...littleowl

I think it would have been better if the posting payments and discussion were increased. I think more would have been interested. I have check on the task but never did any. Well, I prefer to post and reply to the post instead of doing tasks.

I like your idea, but then there are alot out there that will just write anything to make what they can so I don't think it would be fair to those that actually care and put thought into what they are saying. I like the task idea becuase it makes you work for your money if you want it. The thing I don't like about it is taht in the last couple days I have not had any tasks to choose from at all. And the last task that was available to me was something about new youk streets. I have never lived in new york and would have no personal experience to write about so to me that is not a task that is something anyone can do which I don't think is fair. I think there should be at least a task a day you can do if you want. I haven't even been given tasks. Some of the ones I have seen are just plain weird too so I didn't do them. So I guess if I had to choose I think I would choose your idea over the tasks idea.
