Is there any guide line for tagging our discussions and responses? I will just place one or two words , which focuses the discussion while tagging. But I have seen many unnecessary words in the tags, but of course they are related with the topics , in mylot.

There isn't any guideline at all with regards to what should be included when you tag a discussion/s or your responses. But as I understand it, it should be related to the topic on hand and on those words that is the point of interest of the topic. But you are right, there are many out there who have included unnecessary tags. Probably they are thinking that it will help them catch more responder.

Yes! In myLotwe can tag maximum ten words and they are to be separated by a comma. Adding more than ten words is not accepted.
Now coming to tagging part. Mylot is also a data Bank like many other sites where they are storing the information provided by the members in the form of Data as in data bank. Now to store this data in proper manner and to recall it or retrieve it in case when it is needed it has to be tagged which resembl;es the lebelling of a file in a File cabinet.
So the important words in the discussion which will help to retrieve the topic when entered in any Search engine serves as a good tag for a discussion. But some times words whic are not used in the discussion are also added as tags . Such words though may not be there in the topic of discussion but they may have a direct or indirect link with the topic of discussion. Example while discussing about Hindi movie stars or Hindi movies one may not use the word Bollywood in the discussion but then this word can be used as a tag for the discussion.
Ultimately the idea is to make the search easier at the time of retrieval of the data from the dat bank!
Thanks for initiating the discussion! I liked participating in it!
