Do you Blog?

I have a number of friends that blog and do so quite religiously, never letting more than a day or two go between adding a thought, comment, diary entry or opinion to the lengthening list of their musings. I have a blog. I visit it occasionally as a spectator as I got locked out last year and haven't been able to get in since. But even when I did go there with author rights, it was with increasing infrequency. If you keep a blog, how do you retain enthusiasm and the tenacity to keep it going.

Hi p1kef1sh,
I have tried blogging and can't keep it up but I do with my site and I think the key is if it's your hobby a keen interest then you have loads to say about it, I suppose.
with my site I can spend all day on it because it's work for me too, I'm designing on it, so it keeps me busy.

I wouldn't know my dear friend...
I don't even know how to start a blog let alone keep it going but I can imagine it might help someone like me even to log things my son is doing and keep track of his progress etc. I do hope that you are able to get back into your blog and start logging again soon

I've heard of Skype but what is it?
Still, I'd love to know how I would start a blog or more importantly how do I go about starting my own Web Site?
Perhaps a discussion I should start here for my inquiring mind

I have several blogs, all of them pretty much deserted at this point. I am not a writer, and when I do get an idea, I have no idea how to put the words down so that it makes sense, or is interesting to anyone else. So, mine sit there, waiting, waiting, waiting to be attended, and updated.

I can help you with getting your ideas flowing if you like. There are some very simple things you can do to spark writing that will help you develop the means to express yourself.

I blog 5 days a week and most of the time I put up a blog post daily through that week, very seldom letting two days go without adding content.
I blog about my hobbies so I don't usually run out of things to talk about.
If you have a special interest that is close to your heart would you be able to talk about that day in and day out?
I have a number of blogs that are not special interests but they make a bit of money so I keep them updated with PLR content I get from a paid site. I use a paid site so I don't have to compete with so many PLR users. They have a limited membership which makes it work for me.
I usually take the weekends off to enjoy my hobbies but when it's winter I don't go outside much at all so I do spend time on the weekends as well, if we don't have other plans.

i kind of have a rant/art/whatever blog..so,being the element of rant on any given day i can always find something.i guess getting more people to add input helps, and if you're on blogger, you can actually have other people write with you,so if you're tapped for ideas, they might have one.it works out.

i hear ya.
i've tried to shut mine down twice before, and people asked me to reopen it.
if they like to hear me rant,i guess they're suckers for punishment.
now if money could be made, the world would be good.
hey..new rant for the day right there..

Yes, i have few blog but sorry to say that some is make for money earning. So, it is not fun but spend lot of time to do research and get good information to attract the viitor and sponsor. I do only have one personal blog but not much time to spend on it. This is sad for a blogger....lol

I don't have one. I started one a few months back with the thought of making a little money but quickly lost interest. I don't read other peoples' blogs either, I'm just not interested in that type of format. It does seem to be a craze, though.

Hello, I only have one blog that I have on my profile page at myLot. That is all. I don't blog like that. I do visit my blog to see what comments that I may have. I also like to read my blog every now and then too. I just let my blog and I don't retain any enthusiasm. I guess maybe one day this will change. I think blogging is very fun. I spend most of my time here at myLot, where I don't have the time to blog. I guess, I do most of my blogging at myLot.

haha, I like the way you use the word "religiously". Most people who say that they are members of religious groups are not even that "religiously" about their religion.
Some people are not able to attend chruch every Sunday, but are able to blog every day. That adds a different meaning to "religiously".
My blog is rather new, about 6 weeks old. Till now I'm still "religiously" add a post every day, sometimes every 2 days. Maybe a few months later, I will not be that "religiously" updating.
By then, maybe will update only a post or 2 per week.

That has been my take on the whole social phenom...I mean how the
heck do you find time to do it anyway? Yet here I am trying to learn
about myspace, facebook etc. I wish I could find a one size fits all
teaching tool that would give me the 411 on all things blog-a-sphere

I blog every day. I don't remember the last time I skipped a day on all my sites at once. I think, maybe Christmas. I blog for 4 sites. Blogging helps me to stay disciplined in the practice of writing, and God knows I need a discipline boost. If I didn't have a regular blogging schedule along with here I think that there would be days when I just didn't write at all because the muse was absent. That wouldn't be good for my potential career or my bank account. Now I know how to write even if the muse is missing and happily, when I'm being productive, she sometimes decides to return from wherever she has gone.

I suppose you could say that I blog...I have 13 of them!! Each one of them has it's own theme, health, current events, Web Design, cooking etc. I don't have any problem retaining my enthusiasm when it comes to writing them I just have a problem some time finding the time to devote to each one!

Wow! is right! I am blogging because of one man that I am very close to and adore and I can not help but think of him every time I write a blog entry...not knowing whether to kiss him or kill him!!
He has a couple of blogs himself...interesting ones I might add, and I remember him speaking to me about blogging, as I always have so much to say, and one day he suggested that I start a blog.
Well at the time I barely knew what a blog was, believe it or not, and after a few hours of him telling me the positives and me telling him the "what if's" cons I finally gave into him and decided to give it a try...I remember my parting words to him that day, they were, "well if you are as intelligent as you are and you have that much faith in me then that is good enough for me"!
Well to make a long story short...too late I know! The following morning he awoke to an e-mail from me with the URL of the blog that I had started. As I truly didn't know what I was doing I decided to enter the blogging World with a bang and posted a very funny story that had happened to me that morning.
A few hours later, after he woke up on his side of the pond, I received an e-mail in which he told me that he was rolling on the floor laughing over my story, said to me, "and you were afraid you couldn't do it"?, he then ask me to go to my blog and hit the button to connect to his blog, (now I had to figure out how to do that!), and the rest is history as they say! I told him at the end of the day and after looking at my stats for my first blog post, "I like this and with your faith in me I Know I can do it now"!!
Now comes the part to whether I never know whether to kiss him or kill him!!!
He then informed me..."Be careful, it's addicting"!!!
As you can see with my 13 blogs, truer words were Never spoken!
As you have pointed out I do struggle with time and posting as I do many other things during the day but I tend to agree with what "simpri", directly under me here, said, I don't blog just to be blogging, I only blog when I think I have something interesting to say...and when I do think I have something interesting to say then I Make the time to post!
Oh! and by the way, in order to mark my 6 month anniversary of blogging, the man that talked me into it in the first place, gave me a very special and beautiful Design for my blog, everything especially for me down to the finest detail! I still fly that Design proudly to this day, except for a day or so every now and then when I change the design to match a holiday!

I did, I have a blog entitled My Unrevealed Thoughts (http://myunrevealedthoughts.blogspot.com/). I actually created it to earn extra money online. And I did, though of nothing to boast about. Well, it was just fun sharing your thoughts on the web, where someone is willing to listen (read) your thoughts and comment about it. I've been blogging not that so religiously, but I keep on blogging because I'd love to share what's on my mind :D
