Did you attempt to give up smoking?

My daddy was an old smoker with nearly 40 years. i often hear him cough recently,i am very worried about his health. although many times i tried to disadvise him smoking, my daddy took my advice and when he wanted to smoke,he ate something else to repalce it, but he could not insist on , several times he gives up , several times he smokes again, now,he is weaker day by day,i feel so worried .
did you attempt to give up smoking?were you successful in doing that??can you tell me some good way?? thank you in advance.

Don't worry so much.My dad did it ever,but now he doesn't .
When I was a child,my dad gave up smoking for our health.I respect my dad,and you also respect your daddy.Smoking is his habbit,he needs time to change.If you and your daddy strive together,understand each other,you will be succeeful.
