The number in the star on mylot

What is that number in the star when I make a post. i take it, it's some sort of rating. What does it mean, how do I change it, and What is the best number?

Hi Sambarwell, the star comes there beside your name only if your crossed the limit of posting hundred stuffs here.
When you start a discussion and respond to some other there is a sign of + - !. You may see it beside other's posting. It is a way for other members to rate you in terms of the usefulness of the postings. The meaning of sign should be clear to you now.
So try to post informative material here and keep in mind to avoid posting one liners.....
