if the guy asked for a lovely date to a girl .. yes it is.. he is supposed to pay the bill.. but if you and your girl is always dating it should be give and take for both of you to help each other to pay the bill..to stay for a long relationship ..it is a matter of understanding one another.

if the girl can't wait to a guy to ask her for a date ..then she will make the first move..yes it is.. she need to pay the bill.. lol

In my opinion,it depends.If the guy is your lover,it does no matter he pay the bills or dutch treatment.,cause you love each other and money is not the thing you will care about I think.But if that guy insist to do that you should let it be.I will pay the bill in the first date with a girl

If a man was to ask me out on a date then he should pay. If i ask a man out for a date then i would pay.But if he insists than i would let him pay......But since i have been married i only go on dates with my husband, and it is one of my jobs to take care of all the money, so i am the one that usually pays for everything, while he goes and gets the car, so he can pick me up at the front door.....

Well, as a gentleman they should. But, if the girl insist of sharing the payment, then the guy should not go for second options. Even though it is for gentleman way, just do what the lady wants. Something like that. But, as long as the girls says nothing, then the guy should pay, as to respect to the lady.

I think that it is just custom that the guy pays the bill. It is just the way that I was brought up. I personally would prefer to pay the bill at a meal or something but if it was just coffee or something then it would be fine if they paid.

Well if the guy asks you out on the date yes he should pay, but after you are dating regularly, there is no problem with switching on & off. i dont think that is wrong.

If the guy insists then yes, but otherwise I do like to pay for my half of the bill. Although if the guy asked the girl out on a date then shouldn't he have to pay for it seeing as he is the one who asked her out.

I usually pay the whole bill.Even if the girl keep saying that she pays a half,I usually say that she would get it next time. But next time it would be just small coffee or so,not the whole lunch.
I read somewhere that on firts date,they should pay each half of it,but still I would pay...
