Lately, my son has had a little trouble staying motivated at practice. He has been a little bit disappointing with his times this year and now really dreads going to practice. Does anyone have any tips for me to help my son to keep swimming and stay motivated at practice?

You should need to talk with them properly. After talking much to him you can get why he demotivated. Then you need to eliminate this cause for him.

Maybe a private lesson could be good for him. When I used to play competitive tennis, I would feel like I had stopped improving at times and one private lesson with a tennis pro would improve my game. Professionals can often see some little something that you could tweak to improve your form.
Also, what age is your son? Ask him what would motivate him more. Give him some ownership for getting over this hump. Just an idea..
