First off, to clear something up the 3G in Iphone 3g does NOT stand for 3rd generation. Its just some faster internet thing (i dont know much bout it)
But 1 think i hate bout apple is that right after you buy one of their products, they release a newer and better one.
Right now, i am considering buying an iphone. Wheter it be iphone 3g or a 3rd gen iphone, who knows (thats where you guys come in).
I want your opinion if i should wait and see if a new iphone would come out or should i just get the iphone 3g.
Also post up your opinions and shopping experience with apple products.

My opinion is that you might as well just get the one that's already out. Apple said (as you know) that they're going to release a "new version" in the summer (or was it late spring?) but who knows what's actually new about it. It might just be in a different color. They will most likely be super expensive, and iPhones are already expensive as is, without all the added features.
I'd say just get the original one (or the 3g) and MAKE SURE you get a good warranty on it (1-2 years would be good!). I haven't personally bought an iPhone, but I have friends who have them, and have had some difficulties with them, so make sure you get a warranty that covers pretty much any and every kind of discrepancy.
I haven't had any BAD experiences with Apple, and I have an iBook laptop & two iPod nanos - the only complaint I have is that the batteries run out too fast - but that's probably my own fault.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do!
