Well, it is nearly 7:00 on Sunday night and it will be time for bull riding. It is definitely an extreme sport. Their ad says "the toughest sport on dirt." I believe it. We usually watch every Sat. and Sun. night if we are at home. It is on a channel called Versus on satellite.
We were fortunate to be able to go to a live event a couple years ago in Tulsa, OK. We took my Mom and Dad who are also big fans. It was spectacular.
I don't know how those young men have enough nerve to get on the backs of those enormous bulls. The smallest one that was on the tour weighed 1300 lbs. and the biggest one was 2000 lbs. Usually, they are somewhere in between there. The cowboys are usually about 125 to 180 pounds. That is a big weight difference.
What do you think?

I've watched it a couple times, but I honestly can't stand watching it, just because I feel so sympathetic for the bulls. Seriously. *sigh* I'm probably not even entitled to answer this question considering I don't know much about the show/bull-riding, except for what they do to the bulls before and afterwards.

Hi maezee. I am glad you are concerned about animals, but I think you are possibly a little misinformed about the bulls in the PBR. They are expensive animals sometimes costing as much as $50,000 each. The bull owners are very careful with their animals because that is their source of income. The riders do not wear sharp spurs, they are required to be blunt on the ends. It is more of an annoyance to the bull and that is what makes them buck so hard. They are animal athletes and people root for the bulls as much as for the riders.

I am sorry you won't be able to go this year. We won't make it to the Tulsa event this year either. We have too much going on at our place this year to take off and go. I will be watching on TV though every week. You could always try to email the poem to Flint. I bet he would get a kick out of it. Everyone loves his antics.
