I know they usually go hand & hand with fries, but lately I'd rather have my fries with honey mustard, barbecue sauce or ranch or something -- Anything besides boring ole routine Ketchup! I bet if a fast food restaurant started marketing different sauces to go along with fries besides ketchup - that tiny act would probably boost their sales!

I don't eat alot of fries, but if I do I want ketchup or vinegar. I also like BBQ sauce on them. Have you tried vinegar on your fries with lots of salt? Yummy!

When I was growing up we went to the beach every summer and there was a place there called Thrashers. They cooked there french fries in peanut oil and put malt vinegar and lots of salt on them. They were sooooo good! I could eat some of those right now!

Sometimes I like to have ketchup and sometimes I don't. Someone told me to try mayo but I didn't really like that. BBQ sauce is also good to dip fries in. I alternate so maybe thats why I don't get bored with one thing. My boyfriend likes to dip his fries in his shake when we go to McDonald's. LOL

Yeah I have heard people say fries dipped in shakes are good. So your boyfriend may not be so weird afterall LOL
Also I think I once mixed ketchup and mayo together and it actually wasn't that bad, tasted like some type of cream-of-tomato creation

I never thought about mixing the ketchup with mayo. I may have to try that.

If you are not overweight already you soon will be if you continue to eat Deep- fried Potatoes and Ketchup. DO you realize both these products are poison to your system? Look are round and see the obese people who live on these Horrible Things that pass for food. Actually there is nothing that can be eaten on fries, or with fries which will make them a healthy food. Junk food is too good a name for them. Why do you think America is filled with obese people eating Fries with Ketchup?

But hey I know what you mean but they're just sooo good!-) It'll take a whole lot more than fries to make me obese. What alternatives would you suggest by the way?

Hi Multi! You are not the only one out tere who gets tired of ketchup. I got tired of it a long time ago myself, and have come up with many other options for burgers, fries and hot dogs that do not include that condimnet!
I like my hotdogs with just relish and mustard, and I dip my fries in honey mustard, mayo or dijon mustard.
If other condiments are not availible, I use ketchup as a last resort, but I keep it in the house because my hubby likes it and I use it in cooking sometimes. Have a nice day!

Haha, I agree! I like ketchup, but I find that Heinz is really too salty... I like my ketchup more tomato-y. Hunts is pretty good for prepackaged ketchup, but I like to make my own at home. I take regular ketchup and mix it with a small amount of tomato paste and add oregano and basil. Sounds weird, but really delicious.
I usually ask for honey mustard at a restaurant - it's delicious. And, I hate to say it, but McDonald's honey mustard is AMAZING, haha. I love dipping my fries in that! If McDonald's sold their honey mustard by the bottle, I would totally buy it, lol.

Hmmm your homemade ketchup actually sounds good! You might need to package it and sell it to some of these restaurants because regular ole Ketchup is just getting well uh borrrring!!!
And yeah I like McDonald's honey mustard too LOL

Every once in a while I get tired of plain ketchup also, so I mix it with bar-b-cue sauce, A-1 sauce, or even regular steak sauce, anything to give it a different flavor! I've even mixed mustard in with the ketchup, also!
You can even mix in hot sauce and make it spicy, which is the one I favor alot!

I have never used anything on my fries until recently. Just watching my grandkids use ketchup has made me use it at times. But they also use the honey mustard and other sauces with theirs, even the cheesy sauce. And you could be on to something. Maybe a suggestion should be made to these places.

Whatever you do, do not get the no salt ketchup from Heinz. It's gross! My hubby accidently got it on the errand to the store. Talk about phailsauce!

I've never gotten bored using Ketchup. I like the taste but I do prefer salsa over ketsup - fresh tomatoes, cooked with chili plus a little bit of salt - it's more refreshing for the palate although it tastes awful with fries :D it does taste good with roasted chicken!
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

I know what you mean! I'm the same way. I'm sick of ketchup. I like honey mustard also. When I have chicken tenders and fries I use honey mustard. I also like barbeque sauce.. I like it on eggs too.

Well, most fast food places have BBQ or Ranch or some other sauce, they usually just don't associate them with fries, but you can ask for them.
I dunno, I mean, ketchup in fries is like a staple of fast food. Not everyone would be so quick to change things just for some variety.
But I know what you mean. Sometimes, I eat fries with just salt, or Ranch, or just plain, because ketchup can get old.

I dont think I will ever really get tired of ketchup. It is good and I like it. I had fries and onion rings today, but they were cooked in peanut oil so they were really good. I didnt feel like I needed to use anything with them. They were the best
tasting fries that I have had for awhile.

I almost always ask for a dipping sauce for my fries when I go to a restaurant. I haven't eaten much ketchup over the last ten years. I'll eat it once in a while but that's it. If there is a dipping sauce you want , with your fries, at a restaurant, feel free to ask!! 99% of the time they will give it to you and not charge you for it. I love getting honey mustard and ranch for my fries. Yum Yum.
