ignorant or out-of-the-loop people?

Today at walmart, I heard two women talking about twilight, and how the movie was coming out, and how they didn't understand how people liked it. That in itself is alright, but the next part startled me. they were like "Who would like a vampire movie? all that happens is they bite and kill people and make more vampires" .... which isn't AT ALL what twilight is about. Have you ever heard people say obviously wrong things that they should know (or shouldn't talk about)? What did it make you think?
