Guys... Does anyone here can tell me the gender of Dori? Or even just opinions?

Seriously... Me and my friends couldn't find a scene that solidify Dori's Gender. How bout' you guys?

I always thought Dori was a girl...didn't the main character ever call her a "she"? Huh. I guess I never really paid much attention to it. I automatically assumed it was a girl because of the voice actor and name of the character.

What!? She was called a she in the movie!? I didn't notice Dori being called a she in any part of the movie.

No no no! I'm not saying she was DEFINITELY referred to as a "she" at any part of the movie, I just REMEMBER that because of my automatic assumption of her gender. Again, I've never really paid much attention to that before.

i know that ellen degeneres, the voice of dori is physically female. but isnt she a lesbian? should we even consider that? or do you just base it on her voice that biologically, it sounds female? so we should assume that the intention of the creators of finding nemo was to have dori be female? hmmm. i guess i will need to watch the movie again after having watched it too many times already. lol. fun question by the way :)

i did not watch the movie again, but after seeing it too many times over and over again? all i needed was to look back and find a particular part of the movie where they could have possibly mentioned what gender Dory was. shes Female. go back to the part where there was a school of fish, and they told nemo's dad, i forgot his name, but they told him to let THE LADY answer the question because dory could not seem to answer their riddles. they even asked dory if nemo's dad was bothering her. i think they went like, 'is this guy bothering you Maam?' :) so there. shes female. i had to go back to answer again. i hope this helped! Nice question! It never really occured to me to ask the gender of Dori. I just watch Finding Nemo and enjoyed Dori's character and that's it! Now that it was brought up, in my opinion, I think Dori is a female. The way she talks and the way she cares for Nemo. She seems like a female.
