I was once a dumb PC user. Well, even Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin got nothing on me. I have to say my dumbest computer mistake is not turning on the monitor! D'oh! I felt like kicking myself because I was really mad at my computer, screaming at it to turn ON! I even pulled the plug off, turned it on again, and I only see a black screen. It got to the point that I got scared some nasty virus got into my system. Then I realized, the monitor was off. Double D'oh!
Ha ha. Now I still remember that moment, and I now laugh at my mistake.
How about you? What is your dumbest computer mistake ever?
Come on, don't be shy...

Haha! If only you can award yourself the best response for that. That's got to be the dumbest computer mistake! Lol! I could imagine you screaming then scratching your realizing that the monitor's off. I'm just you didn't break in half your graphic card. Lol!
Back then when i was on dial up, i download a 200mb Norton Antivirus for 14 days. I was an upgrade freak eventhough i'm on dial up. I uninstalled my old antivirus then deleted the installer too. When i installed the new version, to my surprise, it's in German! Maybe i should learn German for 14 days than to download another Norton.

Ha ha ha. Diskettes, those things always invoke the worst memories. I remember buying 10 diskettes back when I was in high school and using WinRar to save big files because they just wouldn't fit in one diskette only!
Imagine my joy when I learned of the ever useful USB Flash Drive. Back then the largest one available was just 128 MB, but in the year 2000 it was an AMAZING device. Right now the flash drives with the biggest capacities reach 8 GB or even 16 GB! Whoa.

Haha! Thanks for the BR bro but for me, nothing beats your dumbest computer mistake. Lol! I remember back then, my classmate was bragging about his bunch of diskettes with games. If i can only go back time and bring my 128mb usb drive. Lol! Yup, that's mb only.

Hello,
That is a very funny story inkyuboz. I couldn't really stop laughing when I heard it. Here is my quick dumbest computer mistake that I have ever made. One day I fired up my laptop and was waiting for my computer to turn on. I then logged in as normal and waited for Windows Vista to finish booting completely. After I had waited about 120 seconds I put my hand on the mouse and tried to move it. Nothing happened. Sadly, (this happened a few years ago) when I didn't have a laser mouse, I thought the mouse was plugged in. Then I started to smack the mouse on the desk continuously, but nothing happened. I almost broke it, but luckily I realized that the mouse wasn't plugged in and then I plugged it in. Honestly, I almost thought that I broke the mouse I was so frustrated with it lol. It wasn't really a big deal, but that is probably the only computer mistake I have done.

I had just moved to another apartment, I didn't know much about computers so my father was helping me unpack my computer. It went pretty well, we did all the right things and the computer started working. Then we wanted to use the printer, but but no matter what we did it didn't work. My father spent more than an hour trying to find a solution, but he didn't succeed, so we decided to call one of my friends who knows a lot about computers. He guided us and made us install the whole thing again etc, but the printer still didn't work. Then we called another friend and he also guided us through the phone, but the result was the same. The printer simply didn't work....and then we discovered that we had forgotten to insert the printer cable

i'd have to say ny dumbest mistake was when a friend af mine asked me if i new how to fix his speakers. the driver of the sound card was good, the music played but the sound never came :)) so we reinstalled the driver, and after countless restarts we decided to open the speakers and check if the wires were good. in the evening, when er run out of ideas, I looked at the volume :)) (i was so certain that is couldn't be that, so i didn't even boder looking untill then). so...what do you know? :)) the volume was set on "mute" :). i think that's the dumbest mistake in my life :))

The dumbest computer mistake I have ever made is that a bad track in harddisk. Sometimes ago, I encountered a problem though I still can use computer, but system will do a harddisk checking every time when I restart my computer, and then tell me there are some bad track in C subarea. I know my harddisk have some bad track but not can be repaire. So, I separate the bad track out of other track, it can be use again, but I don't know when it will break down thorough, I must backup the important data interval, it really bad.
