Does anyone understand the use of tags on here?

This discussion is somewhat serious, and somewhat comical. I have been noticing a whole lot lately that...no one can tag discussions. Seriously, isn't a tag supposed to be one word that will make it easier for that discussion to be found via the search bar? Yet I keep seeing whole lines of words as a single tag. Not to mention whoever is going around and just tagging everything "troll" or whatever. Is any one else bothered by this? Does this take away from the search bar credibility, as well? I am not even sure if you could just look up a single word in these phrases and get to the discussion, or do you need to type the whole phrase? It is strange to me.

tags are very helpful in identifying the topics related to the searches done by the users.
You can insert tags in one words as well as phrases but separated by commas. So the probability of finding the result is more.
Tags are really useful.
